Assists in managing customer-related communications and CTDOT to ensure exceptional and positive CX that includes but is not limited to alerts related to detours, cut trips, and other service impacts. 15. Assists in supporting Marketing production on an as needed basis. This work may occur beyond the traditional working days/hours and shared with team members. 16. Assist other departments and divisions as assigned. 17. Assists in managing problems and emergencies as needed. 18. Work cooperatively with all levels of personnel. 19. Serves as the lead for content development and visual layout of the agency's quarterly magazine. This includes setting editorial tone, coordinating contributors, and ensuring the final publication reflects brand standards and storytelling goals. Physical Requirements 24. The role involves periods of standing, walking, and occasional stooping. Candidates must be able to lift and carry materials weighing between 25-50 lbs., including event supplies, printed collateral, and display items. 22. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications 1. Minimum possession of a bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or a closely related field and seven (7) years of relevant work experience is required. A master's degree is preferred. 2. An equivalent combination of education and work experience on a year for year basis can be substituted for the 4-year degree requirement. 3. Experience working in a union environment is preferred. 4. Strong understanding of branding principles, marketing strategies, and consumer behavior. 5. Ability to demonstrate portfolio of successful social media and/or Intranet posts complemented with an understanding of the public transportation industry or customer relations, preferred. 7. Bilingual in Spanish a plus. 8. Experience managing social media platforms, content creation, and community engagement. 9. The incumbent will play a central role in supporting company-wide training initiatives aimed at strengthening the overall workforce. This includes fostering career pathways, enhancing technical competencies, and promoting professional growth within the maintenance department. By championing workforce development and supporting recruitment and training strategies, this role directly contributes to building a more resilient, skilled, and future-ready maintenance workforce. Examples of Duties * Assists in developing and conducts technical maintenance training programs. This includes course scheduling, developing training aids, and maintaining the technical library. * Oversees safety and training program development, instructional content and execution success of said programs * Creates training program content, curriculum and shall be responsible for the full execution of the CTDOT Workforce Development apprentice program. * Regularly conducts instructional courses for all apprentice participants and employees in the troubleshooting and repair of all systems found on the buses operated by CTtransit. Completion of two (2) years of advanced technical schooling with major course work in; automotive and heavy vehicle repair, mechanical engineering or training along with additional work experience can be used as a substitute for not meeting the degree requirement. * Experience in managing employees in a union environment, interviewing, hiring, training, employee development, and managing employee discipline. * Five (5) years of experience in varied fleet maintenance activities with at least one (1) full year of significant responsibility as a trainer or training officer is required. Job Purpose/Function: Manages the evening and weekend operations of the Transportation and Maintenance Department, overseeing the Fixed Route, Paratransit, dispatchers, and maintenance staffing. Assumes oversight responsibility ensuring safety, proper staffing, compliance with all regulatory requirements, including OSHA rules and regulations, and safety-sensitive employee drug and alcohol requirements, on-time performance, and problem resolution. Attend to workflow optimization between the Maintenance and Operations departments, and identify opportunities for improved planning, communication, and efficiency. Major Responsibilities: Recommends staffing levels by skill and demands outside of the traditional work week hours. Works with Human Resources, Transportation Manager, and Shop Manager to identify staff needs, including special training, reporting, documentation, and specific communication to strengthen the “off-hour” utilization of time, planning, and advance service preparation. Offers hands-on people management and individual career development during slower periods of operation. Working with the Transportation Manager and Director of Service Planning, assists in managing the run-cutting process, the development of driver assignments, and the bidding process in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Focused attention will initially be on the new network rollout fine fine-tuning, and any potential modifications which may be necessary for optimization. Along with the Transportation Manager and Shop Manager, monitors and ensures that all elements of NTD's Collective Bargaining Agreement are followed and that all discipline is conducted according to agreements and policies in a fair, consistent, and well-documented manner. Communicates all information on this front to the Transportation Manager, Human Resources Manager, and any third-party oversight partner on a weekly basis. Oversees the essential record keeping and follow-up of supervisors essential to this process. Oversees the timely investigation of all customer complaints; coordinates responses with staff and maintains the database. Together with the Transportation Manager and ADA Customer Care Supervisor, updates and advances each step in the investigation process so as to maintain consistency in the professional handling of these sensitive employee matters. Upholds the highest standards of confidential and sensitive information handling. Distributes and oversees supervisors in distributing notices to staff to ensure the communication of all up-to-date NTD policies, procedures, and other directives. Prioritizes the necessity of complete and consistent communication to all stakeholders, and reiterates key communication items to reinforce essential organizational messaging. Maintains proficiency in NTD's technology systems, including the Avail GPS technology, radio dispatch system, run-cutting system (TMS), Route Match or VIA paratransit computer-aided dispatch software. May be called upon outside of scheduled working hours to address urgent operations issues and training needs, and may be required at meetings/events occurring outside of the regular work schedule. In addition, supports the department by performing other Accounting/Administrative duties as required in line with the position scope. Examples of Duties * Supports the department by executing the daily end-to-end Farebox revenue process in line with the guidance provided in agency and department's policies andprocedures. * Prepares fare media inventory reconciliation reports asdirected. * End-to-end support of the daily Information Boothprocess. * Prepares assigned ad-hoc, monthly and year-end reconciliation reports relative to position's scope. * Assists in performing other accounting/administrative functions as assigned by the Department Head in such areas as accounting, preparation of statistical reports, routine bookkeeping, preparation of accounting records and deliveries of bus passes and tokens to local vendors. * Work cooperatively with all levels of personnel. * Attends in-service training, seminars or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the Agency.
