Habitat NYC was founded in 1984 in church basements on the Lower East Side by groups of passionate New Yorkers who wanted to make real change in our city.

1992

Habitat for Humanity in Nassau County, NY Inc., (HFHNC), established in 1992, is a local non-profit (501(c)3) affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.

2008

Habitat is ranked as the largest private homebuilder in the United States, according to Builder Magazine’s 2008 Builder 100 list.
