    The Winter 2026 Workman Digital Marketing Intern position at Hachette Book Group's Workman Running Press Group imprint offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in the publishing industry to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing. This internship is designed for those who want to learn about the lifecycle of a book and explore various aspects of digital marketing within the publishing sector. The program runs from February - May and follows a 4-day hybrid work schedule, allowing interns to work from home on Mondays, while attending the Midtown NYC office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. A company laptop will be provided for the duration of the internship, and interns are expected to work 21-28 hours per week, with a pay rate of $17 per hour. As a Workman Digital Marketing Intern, you will support the Digital Marketing team across select Workman Running Press Group imprints, including Workman, Workman Calendars, Workman Kids, Artisan, and Black Dog & Leventhal. This role will provide insight into various industry niches, allowing you to work closely with experienced professionals. Interns will be responsible for day-to-day tasks, assist with special projects, and participate in departmental meetings. To enhance the internship experience, Hachette Book Group offers educational sessions featuring speakers from different departments, as well as networking and career development opportunities. Qualifications: An interest in digital marketing with an emphasis on email marketing, digital advertising, and digital asset creation. An interest in exploring a diverse range of adult nonfiction and juvenile fiction and nonfiction titles. Experience producing digital content (ex. filming and editing social media videos, creating social media graphics)-we encourage you to share your work or college portfolio and samples! Experience with editing and office tools such as Canva, Capcut, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus. Experience with email marketing services like Mailchimp, Braze, or other email service providers is also a plus. Highly organized and detail oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines. Ability to learn new software programs. The ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively while also maintaining accuracy. Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities include: Assist with newsletter campaigns, including copywriting, email building, and newsletter ideation. Assist with digital content creation for paid social campaigns and other related projects including social media image and video advertising assets including filming and editing short and longform content, video ideation, video scripting, and copywriting. Assist in building online stores for ecommerce promotions. Assist in monthly reporting for Digital Marketing. Attend department meetings and actively contribute ideas. This is a highly collaborative role, reporting to the Director of Publicity and Marketing, and working closely within our integrated marketing and publicity department. The ideal candidate is highly organized and self-motivated, with 2-3 years experience working on publicity and marketing campaigns in a fast-paced, dynamic publishing environment. They will be responsible for managing 5-10 publicity and/or marketing campaigns per season, including writing press materials, securing national and regional media, planning events, preorder campaigns, influencer marketing, and direct to consumer efforts, as well as liaising closely with authors. We're looking for a creative and curious teammate with an interest in prescriptive nonfiction/self-help, pop culture, parenting, and gift products who is excited to work on a diverse list of books and products ranging from highly visual gift books to America's bestselling cat and dog calendars. This is a NYC based role, requiring three days per week in the office.
