The IT Applications Programmer V for Workday Architect programs, tests, debugs, designs and maintains new applications or enhancements to existing applications across Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Designs and develops software applications that support internal or external business functions. Handles the most complex issues. Generally assigned multiple complex tasks and larger projects. Acts as a project lead and leads various coordination efforts as assigned. Works independently and acts as a resource for lower level Applications Programmers.
Workday Pro Certification(s) is required as well as experience in complex custom integrations using API's and working with business stakeholders and technical teams. Experience with Workday Extend, Prism Analytics, or Adaptive Planning is preferred. This is a 4 day/week on-site position in Edison, NJ (Monday - Thursday).

1. Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of all patients with pulmonary disorders in both critical and non-critical areas pursuant to a prescription of a licensed physician.
2. Performs cardiopulmonary evaluation, monitoring, respiratory therapy treatment techniques, respiratory procedures and patients and family education.
3. Responsible for the acquisition, analysis and interpretation of data obtained from physiological specimens, performing diagnostic tests, studies and research of the cardiopulmonary system and neurophysiological studies related to respiratory care.
4. Administers and/or monitors medical gasses, mechanical ventilation support, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, pharmacologic agents related to respiratory care procedures, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation related and limited to respiratory care.
5. Utilizes the application of scientific principles for the identification, prevention, remediation, research, and rehabilitation of acute or chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction.
6. Administers therapeutic Respiratory Care procedures and sets up related Respiratory Care equipment as prescribed by the physician.
7. Records all pertinent information of provided therapeutic procedures and patient response in the electronic medical record system, EPIC.
8. Sets up, verifies proper function, operates and monitors all invasive and non-invasive respiratory equipment on patients in need of respiratory assistance.
9. Participates in the management of patients on life support systems by recommending and performing appropriate changes based on blood gas results and weaning studies.
10. Responds to and participates in all emergency and trauma codes.
11. Oversees the clinical performance of Certified Respiratory Care Technicians to assure clinical compliance to department policies and procedures.
12. Changes and maintains ventilators, ventilator circuits in accordance with the Infection Control Policy of the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
13. Runs quality controls on blood gas analyzers.
14. Monitors and changes all manifolds, including but not limited to emergency oxygen, nitrous oxide and nitrogen manifold cylinders.
15. Retrieves, cleans and assembles all respiratory equipment using disinfecting solutions and cleaning agents in accordance with infection control protocols.
16. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, and primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
17. Lifts a minimum of 35 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 165 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.

Performs dispatch functions on behalf of the EMS department(s). Coordinates requests for EMS services. Responsible for efficiently and accurately managing incoming and outgoing telephone and radio communications. Acts as a liaison between EMS and those requesting EMS services, such as police departments, fire departments, other EMS agencies, civilians, case managers, social workers, and other facility representatives. Validates requestor information and associated documentation (e.g., PCS forms) and follows up timely on discrepancies. Processes 9-1-1 requests for service, including providing emergency medical call screening and pre-arrival instructions as indicated. Provides dispatch to EMS department units, and interacts with EMS crews. Communicates effectively with requestors, including updates regarding scheduling, delays, and other relevant information. Escalates concerns and conflicts to the chain of command promptly. Performs all other duties assigned by leadership.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of an EMS Dispatcher III at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
1. Receives and processes incoming and outgoing telephone and radio communication.
2. Differentiates between routine and priority messages, and initiates and follows through on responses as required in a prompt, professional, and caring manner.
3. Maintains confidentiality and abides by all HIPAA and patient privacy policies and regulations.
4. Complies with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.
5. Records all requests for service through handwritten and computer entries.
6. Processes requests for 9-1-1 services, including providing emergency medical call screening, and pre-arrival instructions.
7. Dispatches units employing radio, telephone, or other equipment provided, following established protocols.
8. Coordinates requests outsourced to partner agencies including maintaining records of outsourced service requests. Escalates concerns and complaints related to outsourced service requests to the chain of command promptly.
9. Maintains the status and location of all units and personnel at all times.
10. Manages resource requests for large-scale incidents when requested.
11. Works with county Office of Emergency Management and NJ EMS Task Force representatives.
12. Communicate with and respond to requests from other dispatch centers.
13. Communicate and document all relevant information between the prehospital providers and receiving facilities.
14. Maintains hospital diversion logs and provides notifications to stakeholders when appropriate.
15. Troubleshoot all communications equipment problems and notify the appropriate service agency for repair.
16. Submits event reports as needed.
17. Validate documentation (e.g., PCS forms) by established protocols.
18. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
19. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in dispatching law enforcement, fire department, or EMS services.
3. Working knowledge of the radio system and its components.
4. Working understanding of radio broadcast procedures.
5. Familiarity with FCC Rules and Regulations.
6. Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch, dispatch software, UHF/VHF, and other radio frequencies.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Experience working with case managers and insurance providers.
2. Knowledge of county geo-political boundaries, major highways, and landmarks.
3. Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch, dispatch software, UHF/VHF, and other radio frequencies.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Emergency Medical Technician Certification New Jersey or Paramedics Certification.
2. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
3. Certified in ICS 100 and ICS 200 Certification and Hazmat Awareness.
4. Basic Tele-communicator Certification within 3 months of entering position.
5. Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification (NJ State Approved) within 3 months of entering position.
