Halff is seeking a Director / Practice Leader, with their Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License, that would support and provide leadership in the Florida transportation market with a general focus on strategy and growth with FDOT districts. The selected individual will be responsible for the growth and success of transportation planning, design, and related services within the state, including business development, client relationships and project delivery.
Halff's Transportation services safely move people, vehicles and freight using multimodal applications ranging from roadways (local roads to interstate highways), transit and active transportation projects from initial planning through final design. The complete project development process includes responsive planning and design such as geometrics and storm drainage. It incorporates technology and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to relay roadway information and communication. Finally, it brings transit planning and design to the forefront.

Transportation Director / Practice Leader Responsibilities:
Providing strong leadership and guidance in areas of technical expertise and providing oversight to the transportation practice in the region.

Leading successful strategic pursuits and capture planning for specific opportunities.

Transportation Director / Practice Leader Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
A minimum of 15 years or more of progressive experience
Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Florida
Established leadership and expertise in the industry
Strong client connections, particularly DOT relationships at senior levels

Your Opportunity
Join Stantec's Cultural Resources team in and around our Riverview, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee, FL offices to play an integral role in conducting archaeological survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring. Stantec is seeking archaeological technicians for an upcoming Phase III project in Tennessee, scheduled to begin in October, with the possibility of extension. Priority will be given to those with Phase II or Phase III experience. There is also potential for further work beyond this project. These will be project-based positions and may require travel for several weeks at a time (until project completion). Paid travel day, standard GSA per diem, and single occupancy rooms provided by Stantec. Typical work shifts are 6 days on (8-10 hour days) / 1 day off (Sunday).
Your Key Responsibilities
The position will primarily consist of fieldwork but may include laboratory work such as cleaning and cataloging artifacts, analysis, and research. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to performing archaeological fieldwork tasks including controlled surface survey; shovel test survey; and excavation. Duties may also include cleaning and cataloging artifacts.

* Experience in Phase II testing or Phase III data recovery projects preferred
* Experience on Phase I survey projects
* Previous experience with mapping equipment and other special application equipment (e.g., emlid, digital data collection, etc.)

AECOM is currently seeking a CEI Construction Services Inspector to join our transportation team in the Tallahassee, Florida area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of infrastructure projects, including roadway and bridge construction, while supporting the delivery of high-quality construction engineering and inspection services.

The Inspector will be responsible for inspecting construction work and conducting field tests for compliance with contract documents
Responsible for performing assignments assisting Senior CEI Inspector in the performance of their duties and who reviews work while in progress
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning
Tracks quality assurance progress
Construction inspection of roadway and bridge construction
Monitoring on site construction activities
Conduct inspections, observations and run materials tests and checking construction work
Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Water Resources engineers that support the successful delivery of high-profile transportation and infrastructure projects in Northwest Florida.
Essential Functions:
Provides leadership and oversight to a team of professionals with a shared focus on ensuring client satisfaction and quality outcomes.
Leads the development of a water resources discipline team by recruiting new talent and capabilities to the firm.
Creates an engaging and empowering work environment for the team, including communicating clear expectations and providing effective performance feedback through regular meetings, recognition, rewards, coaching, and mentoring.
Oversees and leads the delivery of multiple, high-profile projects that are critical to expanding client relationships and growing our portfolio. Provides subject matter expertise throughout the project.
Drives operation excellence, including profitability, operational efficiency, resource management, and quality deliverables.
Leads client relationship development activities while working closely with client managers and business development teams to drive top line sales growth.
Leads the development and execution of win strategies for high-profile core business and critical pursuits while working in collaboration with the business development and marketing team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active, good-standing Professional Engineering license in the state of Florida.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive water resources engineering design experience
Experience leading and designing stormwater management for transportation-related infrastructure.
Proven experience in providing technical guidance to staff. This includes reviewing others' work for technical accuracy.
Proven experience in managing and mentoring engineering staff.
Proven experience with business development including client relationship development, proposal writing, and presentations.
Proven track record of leadership, with a strong understanding of effective management practices.
Must possess demonstrated project and budget management skills, and strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental engineering business principles.
Must possess exceptional organizational, critical thinking, prioritization, process improvement, and oral and written communications skills.
Must have the ability to effectively engage and empower teams, and interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
Possesses a professional demeanor and adheres to ethical standards.
Leads by example and provides clear guidance and expectations for team.
Must be capable of marketing services to existing and new clients.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microstation Open Roads Designer
Demonstrated proficiency with drainage design software including ICPR, HY-8, and HEC (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience working with FDOT District 3, City of Tallahassee, and other local municipalities.
Proven experience with the design of public utility relocations for water and wastewater utilities.
