DURING A TYPICAL DAY Troubleshoot and identify a root cause, repair, or replace parts, rewire and install related instrument/electrical goods including conduit and/or wiring. Ensure that all work performed is completed by following all local electrical codes. Including 4160V, 480V, 220V, 110V, 24V DC and 4-20 mA loops and circuits as applicable to the location. Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O including 4-20mA loops, 120V/24DC I/O. Responsible for all preventative and proactive electrical maintenance and compliance procedures. Assist with emergency and scheduled shutdowns while performing regular mechanical duties as directed. Calibrate, configure, and repair of measurement/control instruments for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH including associated valves and valve actuators. Understand electrical and instrumentation equipment associated with plant processing equipment. Possess a strong understanding of motor control circuits and electric motors. Inform management of any instrument/electrical parts needed and assist with maintaining the required instrument/electronic/electrical parts inventories. Ensures redundancy measures are functioning properly to minimize downtime in the event of a primary system failure by performing periodic site inspections and DC power systems load surveys. 4. Provides technical expertise and services in response to hardware and software needs, working as a technical liaison between SCADA and Operations personnel. Provides second tier technical support to internal and external stakeholders. 5. Supports TCP/IP network communications. Monitors network performance, coordinates scheduled network outages, properly connects patch cables, and configures IP address information. 6. Responds to emergency and after hour calls, such as SCADA & control system failures, power systems, communication and equipment technical failures. Coordinates and initiates repairs to minimize downtime. 7. Assists with physical and cyber security tasks including asset management, password resets, incident response, and compliance mitigation. Assists with identifying, isolating, and addressing system risks and threats. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Educational/Experience Level 1. Associates degree in engineering technology, electronics, computer science or a related field; or 2. A general educational knowledge acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and three years related experience in operations, maintenance and troubleshooting electronics and communications equipment related to gas operations. Communication Skills Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with experience or knowledge of the technical area. Numeric Skills Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods. Computer Skills Requires a very high level of computer skills in order to use various software packages as well as a familiarity with hardware configuration. Physical Demands 1. Ability to lift 30 pounds from the ground to 45 inches. (EX: lifting backup battery and equipment) 2. Ability to carry 30 pounds a distance of 50 feet. (Ex: Lifting and carrying a ladder) 3. Ability to lift 15 pounds from the ground to 83 inches. (Ex: lifting ladder into vehicle) 4. Ability to ascend/descend 10 rungs on a ladder. (Ex: climbing ladder) 5. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and /or crouch. Work Conditions Works in an indoor & outdoor environment. Requires frequently performing activities including, but not limited to, stooping, bending, crawling, kneeling, grasping, reaching, climbing and lifting objects up to 100 pounds (e.g. lifting and pulling rolls of pipe). Must be able to accurately differentiate wiring and other system components by color. Other Requirements Requires the acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of smell. Must maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for position. Requires a valid driver's license in accordance with company standards.
