Moves material to location designated on material tag. * Has knowledge of all materials, whether in process of manufacture or finished, used in assigned department. * Checks hoist, spreader, and spreader chains daily. Hooks and unhooks material for crane operator. * Keeps machines stocked with material. Moves material to forwarding zone and tags it for other departments. Keeps spacer bars in orderly condition. * Constantly observes material for rust and straightness. * Makes written reports to supervisor as to heats and condition of material, regarding defective materials and mixed heats. * Capable of safely and efficiently driving any type of truck, yard truck crane, or truck-tractor with trailer or winch. * Has good knowledge of proper and safe use of binders, chains, winch lines, snatch blocks, side booms, or gin poles. * Responsible for seeing that assigned unit or equipment is not neglected or abused. * Reports all needed repairs to supervisor. * Helps load, unload and check any material which is received or shipped by company. * Maintains clean and orderly work area. Minimum Qualifications: * Two year technical degree or equivalent education and/or experience. Valid driver's license in state of residence required.
