Skills: Demonstration of ability to complete personal, environmental and basic skilled and unskilled nursing care to include the following; vital signs, S & A's, foley catheter insertion, irrigation; administration of fleet and soap suds enema, infection control techniques. Administration of IM & SQ injections, dressing changes, monitoring pain and symptom control. Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, regulations, and medical equipment utilized in patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions for a safe work environment. Skill in modifying documentation to meet intermediary requirements. Skill in preparing, maintaining and writing reports. Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with associates, patients, medical staff and the general public. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to work independently in patients' homes without direct supervision. Ability to drive self to various locations on a daily basis.
