Job Summary :
The purpose of this position is to check all patients in and out following their visit with a provider, verify accuracy in patient ‘superbill' in the in-house system, collect payments from patients in a manner that maximizes patient collections and increase patient accountability, and schedule all follow up appointments according to set protocols of each department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete the registration function of Medical or Dental checking out patients after patients have receive services and be able to work in all registration areas effectively including off-site locations
Collect fees associated with each visit for the uninsured and insured patients
Coordinate collection of all past due account balances with patients and billing department.
Verify patient information to assist the billing process
Coordinate patient services with the benefits department to assure coverage for prescriptions.
Provide patients with receipt of all transactions and update the in-house system according to set protocol.
Verify patient's ‘superbill' information to ensure accuracy and smooth transition of services to billing according to set protocol
Be able to work with all internal departments to solve problems and ensure a smooth transition of all registration functions at all registration locations including off site clinics.
Medical - Direct patients to benefit for medication completion, select plan, PCP change, presumption of eligible forms, sliding waivers for ultrasound and Health Start enrollments
Performs other job duties as assigned within scope of responsibilities.
Perform the job functions of check in when needed:
Register all patients for Medical and Dental based on approved protocol for each department.
Register all scheduled appointments and walk-in patients according to department/program protocol.
Verify insurance and primary care provider (PCP) using promise for all medical assistance patients and the appropriate method of verification for all private insurance via website or telephone.
Place the appropriate patients on the sliding fee scale by completing a household assessment.
Scan copies of insurance cards, identification, and all necessary documentation for patient files.
Advise patients accordingly to streamline patient/workflow in a professional and courteous manner such as to take a number, assisting with questions and concerns and giving guidance to find other departments and programs.
Collect insurance co-payments before service is rendered and coordinate with check out process.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Must be detail oriented, have excellent verbal and communication skills, have strong computer skills, and able to work with high degree of accuracy in a high paced environment. Must be able to handle work related stress in a positive manner and able to apply critical thinking skills in problem solving, be dependable, reliable, and professional. Must be able to communicate politely and courteously with people from different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds and be able to establish and maintain harmonious, productive working relationships with Center's management, providers, clinicians, and public. Able to work some evening and other extended hours as needed.
Minimum Qualification:
High School graduate or GED required, associated degree or formal business/technical education preferred. A minimum of one (1) years' experience in customer service-based center atmosphere, general customer service, medical/dental registration, or other related fields.
Other Requirements: Reliable transportation to travel throughout the service area.

Job Summary : The Nutritionist Assistant is responsible for providing nutrition education and breastfeeding support to WIC eligible participants, as well as referrals to other social services organizations. The Nutritionist Assistant will work with the Nutritionists on staff in completing WIC certifications as well as provide clerical support.
Essential duties and Responsibilities :
The Nutritionist Assistant performs a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to the following:
Delivers nutrition and breastfeeding education according to nutrition care plan written by the nutritionist; sets appropriate goals if needed or follows up on goal that is set by the nutritionist. Uses guided goal-setting VENA skills.
Performs all aspects of the participant certification for the nutritionist except for assessment and education.
Ensures high-risk contacts and formula changes are seen by a Nutritionist.
Documents contact on the Quick WIC data system and in the chart, ensuring that the chart is organized correctly, and documentation is thorough and accurate.
Promotes and supports breastfeeding among WIC participants, ensures breast pumps are issued in an appropriate manner and documented cleans pumps when they are returned and calls participants and updates the breast pump log.
Responsible to ensure that chart organization and documentation are done according to departmental procedures.
Complies with nutrition education, breastfeeding, and outreach objectives.
Participates in meetings, in-services, outside trainings, and conferences as assigned by supervisor.
Performs anthropometric measurements and hematological testing, following OSHA regulations and state policy; also, responsible for setting up and cleaning those designated areas.
Assists in answering phones, calls no-shows, and reschedules appointments, as well as sending out reminder cards. May be responsible for check in and check out process as needed, supporting the receptionist area as need demands.
Assists in agency projects, such as purging files, decorating themed bulletin boards, organizing supplies, and preparing materials that required assembling, such as voucher holders, etc.
Makes referrals to other social service and other community services both in and outside of HHC services.
Assist other staff with duties when understaffed to ensure optimal flow and service of the clinic, performing certifications, formula changes etc. as directed by management, regardless of appointment schedule to meet the needs of WIC participants.
Attends WIC Satellite clinics as assigned.
Performs all duties necessary to ensure smooth clinic flow and delivery of benefits to participants.
Drives satellite clinic van when needed.
Reports problems experienced at the satellite clinic to the Director/Team Lead or state agency as needed.
Assures security of WIC Vouchers and equipment at the site.
Attends meetings, in-services, trainings, and conferences as assigned by the WIC Director.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary : The Nutritionist I is responsible for the determination of WIC eligibility and nutrition risk level according to federal and state policies and company guidelines. Performs assessment and provides education to participants, providing tailored food packages within federal and state guidelines.
Essential duties and Responsibilities :
The Nutritionist I performs a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to the following:
1. Responsible for certifying and recertifying participants to the WIC Program according to State agency policy and procedures.
2. Incorporates Value Enhanced Nutrition Assessment (VENA) skills, participant centered counseling and guided goal-setting techniques.
3. Performs anthropometric measurements and hematological testing following OSHA regulations and state policy.

13. Responsible for overall security of equipment, supplies and eWIC cards at the clinic site.

15. Responsible to communicate needs and issues to WIC Director, the State WIC Agency or Hamilton Health Center as needed.
Minimum Education/Certifications: Bachelor of Science from an accredited four-year institution, with emphasis on one of the following: Food and Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition Education, Human Nutrition, Nutrition Science or equivalent
Minimum Work Experience: Previous experience or background in a WIC or community nutrition setting and customer service preferred. Review the provider's schedule and compile list of patients to be reviewed during huddle.
Review the EMR for patients using the appropriate template for preparation for team huddle.
Check each chart for applicable lab test results and/or diagnostic test results and notify provider of any problems or concerns. Track and obtain results if not in the system.
Identify patients with recent ER visits, hospitalization, or specialist visits; check for/obtain relevant information to support continuity of care.
Identify needs for patients with chronic conditions and facilitate care for patients such as contacting a care coordinator, advocating for other Hamilton services, soliciting provider to address need.
Capture accurate medical history, current office visit information and accurate vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature.
Document chief complaint and prepare patient for examination relevant to chief complaint. Enter the chief complaint into the EMR.
Under the direction of the Provider may assist with medical examinations, to include but not limited to perform routine or specialized procedures including but not limited to venipuncture, wound dressings, ear irrigations, setting up sterile fields, and any procedure that is ordered by Provider while adhering to standards of within the scope of licensure and quality patient care.
Maintain patient and department flow-must be able to assist with nurse schedule as assigned, be flexible with daily schedule changes and assist other team members when needed.

11. Assist other staff with duties when understaffed to ensure optimal flow and service of the clinic, performing certifications, formula changes etc. as directed by management, regardless of appointment schedule to meet the needs of WIC participants.
12. Attends WIC Satellite clinics as assigned. Performs all duties necessary to ensure smooth clinic flow and delivery of benefits to participants.
13. Responsible for overall security of equipment, supplies and eWIC cards at the clinic site.
14. Protects participant confidentiality.
15. Responsible to communicate needs and issues to WIC Director, the State WIC Agency or Hamilton Health Center as needed.
Minimum Education/Certifications: Bachelor of Science from an accredited four-year institution, with emphasis on one of the following: Food and Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition Education, Human Nutrition, Nutrition Science or equivalent
Minimum Work Experience: Previous experience or background in a WIC or community nutrition setting and customer service preferred. Knowledge of educational and nutrition counseling methods, nutrition assessment, anthropometric and hematological measurements, breastfeeding promotion and support methods, social and human service systems for client referral. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office. Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred.
Other Requirements: Reliable transportation to travel throughout the service area. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.
