The Caregiver observes the client and reports observations and documents the same along with all care performed. • To perform the functions generally undertaken by the natural homemaker, including such duties as preparation of meals, laundry, light housekeeping and shopping. • Provide and maintain safe environment for client, using equipment safely and properly. • Practice universal precautions in all contact with clients. • To maintain the home in the optimum state of cleanliness and safety depending upon the client and caregiver resources and perform or assist client/family with home maintenance activities as prescribed in the care plan, including, but not limited to, light housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting, washing floors, making beds, doing dishes, etc.). • Monitor adequate fluid and nutrition intake of the client and prepare meals. • Provide client transportation by taking shopping or to appointments such as doctor's, hairdresser, etc. • Provide companionship to client by reading, writing letters, playing cards, etc. • Provide personal care to clients. • Respect the autonomy and right to confidentiality of all clients and families. • Document care provided and response of client/family.
