In this role you will: Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, performance, and client outcomes within the market. Provide executive oversight of project delivery, quality, and design standards to ensure excellence and consistency across the market(s). Monitor and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs of profitability, utilization, backlog, client satisfaction) to inform decision-making and planning. Anticipate and mitigate operational risks that may impact project delivery, staffing, or financial outcomes. Promotes innovative ideas, systems thinking and continuous evolution of practice standards. Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management to achieve market profitability goals. Direct staffing and resource allocation, working with staffing coordinators through a consistent process to balance workload, utilization, and professional growth opportunities and to honor cross-sector staffing commitments through transparent, coordinated planning. Partner with HR and Market Leaders to align workforce planning, recruitment, and talent development with market and firmwide needs. Collaborate with Design, Technical, and Operations leaders to streamline workflows, integrate best practices, and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with Market Leaders and Business Development teams to drive growth, sharpen market positioning, and surface new opportunities, providing disciplined challenge in go/no-go decisions to protect end profitability. Ensure compliance with firmwide standards for quality, sustainability, and regulatory requirements. Guides teams successfully through transitions with clarity, empathy and decisiveness. Lead and mentor senior project managers and emerging leaders by setting clear expectations for accountability, innovation, and collaboration, and by actively promoting cross-market collaboration, knowledge sharing, and ongoing learning and development. Collaborate with Practice Group Leaders and HR partners on performance feedback, succession planning, promotions, and compensation recommendations. Cultivate a culture of transparency, continuous learning, and excellence in project delivery. Coach and support project managers in building and sustaining strong client relationships, ensuring consistent delivery quality, responsiveness to evolving client needs, and improved project margin performance. Represent the market(s) internally as a key voice in firmwide leadership forums and externally as an advocate for the firm's expertise and design excellence. You will need to have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Business Administration, or related field. Professional licensure in architecture interior design or engineering preferred. 12+ years of progressive experience in architecture, design operations, or professional services leadership with at least 5 years of experience as a successful project manager. Demonstrated success managing financial performance, project delivery, and team operations within a market or practice area. Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills that can be used across all levels of HGA. Deep understanding of architecture and design industry trends, delivery models, and client expectations. Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and related project management tools. Key expectations: Translates vision into action; aligns team or functional goals with strategic priorities. Shapes messaging and communication strategies; leads cross-functional collaboration. Production or delegation of meeting agendas, minutes, studies, and ad-hoc analyses. This should be done in conjunction with the development of a central repository for all TIM program materials as deemed important by the client agency. Develop a TIM program marketing plan to encourage agency participation and quantify value. Incident Response Training (e.g., safety service patrol) Actively collaborate on the incident responder initial training program, keeping it current, innovative, and effective. Participate in train-the-trainer exercises, learning all agency protocols and skills associated with the client's incident response program to facilitate training on an as-needed basis. Routinely audit and edit the incident response program's standard operating procedures in the interest of keeping them current and relevant in the delivery of training modules. Establish a safety program designed specifically for the client's incident response staff that includes content from the agency's safety mandates, OSHA, and best practices from other programs operating under a similar mission. The program should include safety tracking mechanisms, reporting protocols, auditing guidelines, and staff training. Create educational content for recurrent training to be delivered annually in safety stand-down scenarios and on a shift basis during the pre-deployment briefings. Define and maintain electronic training records for each member of the incident response and TIM program teams, including deadlines for recertification, tracking of completed training, and documented completions of specialized training (e.g., HazMat and CDL). Prepare applications (e.g., grant applications) to the federal government for planning and training funding assistance. Its purpose being to evaluate new technologies and determine their value to the client from an operational and financial standpoint. Statistical Analysis Collect and analyze raw data outputs for the preparation of regional/statewide performance reports on mobility, operations, and TIM trends. Collaborate with data scientists (AECOM or client) to develop real-time dashboards that present events and incidents, including their associated key data points such as incident response and clear times, public notification, hotspot proximity, and severity levels. Create multi-disciplinary workgroups that will routinely review mobility, operations, and TIM reports in the interest of generating collective solutions to negative trends related to traveler safety. Establish user authority and known locations for all data streams available as related to traffic incident management. Utilize these data streams to produce ad-hoc statistical reports based on special circumstances and requests (e.g., time-lapsed blizzard roadway incident reports, roadway infrastructure damage summaries after a major storm).
