Job Description
The Summer Camp Counselor is a non-exempt position responsible for leading a group of campers enrolled in Hammond's Hawk Ridge Camp. Hammond's Hawk Ridge Camp is designed to provide campers from three years old to rising 6th grade with a summer full of fun, age-appropriate activities and a variety of hands-on enrichment opportunities while building self-esteem through positive interactions. Campers are divided into three age groups: 3 - 4 years old, rising K - 1st grades and rising 2nd - 6th grades. Each camper will have the opportunity to experience a variety of field trips and field studies as well as music, theatre, art, sports, outdoor adventures, and much more! Camp activities are carefully organized according to age group, are planned in advance, and provide hands-on interactive learning in a stimulating and safe environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assist in preparing and implementing the appropriate planned activities for assigned campers/group.
Supervise and motivate a group of campers in an age-appropriate manner that is fun and engaging.
Implement the Hawk Ridge Camp procedures and policies effectively to ensure the safety of all participants in the program.
Maintain accurate and organized records such as attendance rosters, and all other paperwork to ensure program compliance and quality operations.
Assist with maintaining, cleaning, and straightening of the designated classroom or area before, during, and after the program each day.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma.
Experience working with young children.
Ability to be flexible with the day-to-day uncertainties and changing circumstances of camper enrollment and schedules.
Must be available for all 8 weeks of camp -- Thursday, May 28 - Friday, July 31 from 8 AM-4 PM. Summer Programs is closed the week of June 29-July 3.
Reporting: The Summer Camp Counselor reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an endowed professorship and will join an established primary care service team with three clinicians (two ABVP board-certified). The service currently performs routine dentistry procedures with an average case load of 300 per year and has three veterinary nurses, two of whom are VTS-certified (AVTCP - canine/feline). The successful candidate would possess advanced training in small animal dentistry and experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery is preferred. The successful candidate will perform dentistry within the small animal primary care service while also providing advanced dental care from a referral caseload. The service has the support of, and access to, all the resources of the Purdue University Veterinary Hospital, an on-site clinical pathology laboratory, and the Indiana State Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. The PVM is highly supportive of individual faculty career growth and development, including an active formal faculty mentoring program.
Qualifications
Qualifications for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree, and board certification in the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC), and a minimum of 5 years' experience in dental practice in either an academic or private setting. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and work collaboratively with other faculty and staff. Excellent teaching skills or the ability to demonstrate a sincere interest in developing strong teaching skills is required. The expectations for the position include: 1) clinical, didactic, and laboratory instruction of veterinary medical and veterinary nursing students in all aspects of small animal dentistry; 2) as part of our teaching mission, the faculty member will provide supervision and mentorship to a Resident; 3) clinical service commitment of approximately 60%, providing dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgical services for primary and referral patients; 4) collaboration in clinical research projects; and 5) participation in engagement activities, including committee work, PVM sponsored programs, and delivery of continuing education programs. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. A background check is required for employment by the University.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The primary responsibility of the Campus Safety Officer (CSO) is to protect the members of the Converse community alongside the property and assets of the university. Under the general supervision of a Shift Sergeant, the officer will engage in proactive and responsive measures to ensure safety and security through a courteous, helpful, unbiased and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Protective Services
* Routinely patrol campus and other properties under jurisdiction on foot, motor vehicles or other authorized bikes and transportation. Watch for unauthorized persons, suspicious or criminal activities, disturbances and violations through regular patrols and monitoring of camera systems
* Secure (lock and unlock) campus facilities per directives. Conduct security and safety checks and patrols of all buildings and campus grounds.
* Observe and report safety hazards to appropriate personnel and departments.
* Observe weather conditions on and around campus property and report dangerous or unusual weather-related activity to management for timely response and communication.
* Respond to and manage all emergencies and disasters on campus.
Enforcement Services
* Enforce department and university policies and regulations as related to safety and security, including applicable state and federal laws on Converse property and other areas within jurisdiction.
* Enforce traffic and parking regulations within Converse's jurisdiction. Assist campus and local law enforcement with all traffic control needs such as necessary including directing traffic, posting signage, setting and removal of traffic cones and barricades and more.
* Conduct arrests and issue trespasses according to departmental policies and SLED regulations.
* Investigate complaints and violations of university policy and South Carolina law within Converse's jurisdiction and patrol area. This may include viewing camera footage, talking with witnesses, capturing and handling of evident and writing of incident reports.
* Complete and submit appropriate and timely reports for all complaints and activities including but not limited to accidents, injuries and criminal activities. Testify in court as necessary.
Community Services
* Render first aid and life support techniques when necessary.
* Proactively implement the department's community policy program.
* Interact positively with campus community members on a daily basis and assist members in identifying potential safety and/or criminal problems.
* Provide excellent customer service to all university students, faculty, staff and visitors.
* Provide direction, escorts and other assistance to students, faculty, staff and visitors as needed.
Other Services
* Complete all training and recertification programs as assigned by training officer, supervisor and/or Director, including but not limited to participation in drills, evacuation procedures, disaster preparedness, safety programming and more.
* Wear uniforms as directed and handle all assigned weapons, tools and the use of campus property including motor vehicles with care and responsibility.
* Perform other services and duties as assigned
