    The Human Resource Generalist is a highly visible, employee-focused professional who provides comprehensive support to both employees and management across core human resources functions. This is an onsite position and is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll, administration of employee benefit programs, and support of recruiting and retention initiatives. This position operates in a fast-paced environment and requires a high level of discretion and confidentiality. The Human Resource Generalist serves as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and provides guidance and resolution related to payroll, benefits, and general HR matters for all Hampel employees. Requirements Accurately and timely process bi-weekly payroll, including data collection and reporting for contract employees. Provide education and coaching to employees and team leads relating to payroll, time reporting and collection, benefits, and company policies. Facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation processes. Create and maintain employment files. Process benefit elections, garnishments, salary changes, wage and employment verification. Track and maintain employee status - new hires, terminations, transfers and benefit changes. Conduct Hampel HR annual audit which includes I-9's, personnel files (active and terminated) as directed. Process all incoming employee verification requests and unemployment notices. Responsible for leave of absence programs (FMLA, STD, Personal) from issuance of applicable documentation to team members' return to work eligibility. Maintain attendance and PTO databases. Prepare reports and analysis of requested employment data. Timely file and respond to requests for information as may be required by state and federal laws and regulations. Administer and facilitate employment benefit programs, including open and periodic enrollment provisions pursuant to plan requirements. Administer family medical leave, personal leave, short and long-term disability and COBRA benefits according to company policies and applicable laws. Administer Worker's Compensation claims including claim handling, reporting, and third-party administrator communications. Investigate employee relations issues and collaborate with management to resolve problems, mediate employee disputes, participate in and document disciplinary actions. Coordinate recruiting activities including, interviewing and on-boarding of select candidates. Assists with company events and meetings and 401(k) investment and annual enrollment education sessions. Promote open door communication with all employees; be visible and approachable for questions and be available to counsel as required. Assists with projects and other tasks assigned as necessary. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered. Minimum 2+ years of experience administering payroll and health and welfare benefit programs preferred. Strong working knowledge of Paylocity, including payroll batching, payroll transmission, and creation of ad hoc reports. Experience with multi-state payroll processing and related tax requirements. Proficient in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to manage tight processing deadlines in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with employees and leadership at all levels. Ability to work independently while demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication, writing, and customer service skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
