The Driver will provide client transportation to and from senior centers, shopping, social events, and local transportation. Rate of pay: $18.035 Schedule: (22 hours per week) (M, T, Wednesday: 8:00 am-3:30 pm) Location: 13-28 123rd Street - College Point NY 11356 Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Safely transport clients in company van to and from various destinations as scheduled. Escort and assist clients from apartments to vehicle and back, when necessary and ability to determine that need. Ensure safety of clients on board by requiring use of seatbelts, wheelchair brackets, and any other safety devises. Assist in scheduling of routes. Legibly complete passenger log on a daily basis. Collect and record participant contributions on a daily basis in lock box On occasion, as per driver's supervisor, deliver food to client's homes Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain that vehicle is always in clean and good operating condition. Inspect vehicle daily and report any operational or structural defects to supervisor immediately. Oversee routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of vehicle (fuel fill, oil changing, tire rotation/change, etc.). Maintain gasoline and mileage records daily. Maintain vehicle repair log in maintenance books Any other tasks as may be required. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED is a must Clean, valid NYS Driver's License with 5 years driving experience. Ability to read, write, and speak English language. Knowledge of the northern Queens area, particularly the College Point, Whitestone, Flushing, and Bayside areas.

This position will also serve as the primary liaison for the Food Bank of New York and CCOSU's food pantries in Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan County. The driver is responsible for the planning and logistics coordination related to the pick-up and delivery of food to the three counties. The driver will also assist with special projects in Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan County. The driver, in conjunction with the Case Management staff of each county will assist with the bi-annual Stuff the Bus partnership, Thanksgiving Turkey Basket Giveaway Event, the annual Christmas Adopt-a-Family and Giving Tree programs, as well as Back-to-School supply drives and drives organized by outside community partners, such as baby showers, winter coats, and food drives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Manages all food-related activities. These activities include picking up of food bank orders, supermarket orders, and distribution of food to clients in our community. 2. Organizes mass food-related distributions for Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan County locations. 3. Coordinates all aspects of key Resource Exchange donation activities throughout the year. These programs are Stuff-the-Bus (June and November), Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway event (November) Adopt-A- Family and Giving Tree (Christmas), Back-to-School Supply drives (August). 4. Ensure contact information of donors and particulars of donation are provided to Advancement Office for inclusion on donation log and necessary donor acknowledgement. 5. Safely operate agency vehicle(s) to pick up and deliver food donations and supplies. 6. Load and unload food products, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage or spoilage. 7. Maintain accurate records of pickups, deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage. 8. Maintain agency van clean and sanitized. 9. Collect and report required information on fueling and maintenance of vehicles. 10. Maintains a clean and safe pantry environment. 11. Assist in organizing, rotating, and stocking food items in the pantry when needed. 12. Follow all food safety and handling procedures, including proper storage temperatures. 13. Responsible for cleaning the pantry (i.e. clean refrigerators/freezers, clean milk crates, clean shelves, and sweep/mop pantry storage). 14. Provides transportation to older adults for individual and group rides to grocery shopping, stores, museums, community centers, and social events and gatherings. Rate of pay: $18.50 Schedule: Monday - Friday ON CALL/AS NEEDED Location: 27-40 Hoyt Avenue South, Astoria, NY 11102 Essential Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Safely transport older adults to and from group trips as scheduled. Assist clients onto and off the van, when necessary and can determine that need. Ensure safety of clients on board by requiring use of seatbelts, wheelchair brackets, and other safety devices. Legibly complete passenger log on a daily basis. Collects participants' contributions daily. Perform administrative tasks in the office when required including answering the phone, communicating with older adults, recording contributions, contacting car service companies. Maintain vehicle in clean and operating condition. Inspect vehicle daily and report any operational or structural defects to supervisor. Sanitize the bus after every individual and group ride. Oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of vehicle (fuel, oil changes, tires, etc.). Maintain gasoline and mileage records daily. Organize vehicle repair log in maintenance books. Pick up vehicle and return it to the garage at the end of the day. Additional tasks that may be required. Qualifications: Clean & valid NYS Commercial Driver's License CLASS B - Please do not apply if you do not have a CLASS B CDL 2 years of driving experience Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
