Counselor (Mental Health) $22 Per Hour, Part-time TSINY, a non-profit Mental Health Services Agency seeks Counselor for its Residential Program, located in Queens Village, NY. Valid Driver License Required Position Summary Provide direct care services to assigned caseload. Work hands on with residents on learning daily living skills, such as personal hygiene, laundry, budgeting and room maintenance. Accompany residents on medical and benefits appointments and off-site recreational activities. Meet with caseload individually for weekly sessions. Conduct clothing inventory and shop for seasonal clothing. Essential Functions Converse with shift going off duty for any pertinent information, i.e., appointments, overall residents' behaviors, changes in medication, etc. Supervise morning, afternoon and evening medication. Initial medication book immediately after each individual medication is given to a resident. Alert day programs of resident's absence and lateness if resident has an appointment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Conduct counseling/therapy sessions in either individual and/or group setting as well as mental health evaluation and concrete needs assessments to all crime victims, witnesses and families impacted by crime prosecuted by the New York County District Attorney's Office. * Direct engagement with all victims, witnesses, and their families including explaining the criminal justice system, connecting them with services, conducting outreach and follow up calls; maintaining on-going contact to ensure they are receiving support and services. * Conduct crisis intervention interviews and assist with safety planning. * Provide victim support and court accompaniment throughout the criminal justice process. Act as a liaison between victims, families, and Assistant District Attorneys and provide case status information. * Follow up contact with all victims to monitor their connection to services. * Ability to interact effectively with victims, witnesses, families, law enforcement officers and criminal justice personnel. * Assist with a range of direct services such as crime victim compensation applications, emergency shelter placements, partner with DANY Advocates for additional concrete services. * Collaborate with outside agencies to assist crime victims and facilitate referrals to appropriate agencies. * Maintain accurate up to date case files as well as maintain statistics. * Will rotate and sit different office locations including the Downtown Office, Harlem Office and Washington Heights when assigned. * Perform related duties as assigned. TSINY, a non-profit mental health services agency seeks Part-time Night Counselor for one of its Residential Programs, located in Jamaica (Queens), NY. Position: Part- time, 14 hours weekly. Salary: $22 hourly NYS Drivers License with a clean record required High School Diploma or Equivalent required Position Summary Provide oversight of the program on the overnight shift. Responsible for completing room checks and determining that all residents are accounted for. Conduct chart audits and maintain resident back charts.
