Summary
The Facilities Handyman, reporting to the Director of Facilities, plays a key role in ensuring that campus buildings, grounds, and equipment remain in excellent working condition. Position Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Carpenters are responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of all wooden structures in the theme park, waterpark and campground.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance through thorough inspections of all wooden structures, including, but not limited to, buildings, interior finishing work, and roofing.
Inspect wooden roller coaster tracks and attractions daily. Perform required repairs and document all hazards as they are identified.
Operates power tools and heavy equipment normally associated with the trade.
Assemble framework and utilize tools for repairs.
Fabricate and install signs, stairs, furniture, walls, and structures as assigned.
Install structures and fixtures such as windows, framing, flooring and trim.
Use of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance logs to track work that has been performed on each amusement park ride and attraction.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Recommended Skills:
Minimum 2 years relevant maintenance experience, amusement park maintenance experience preferred.
Must be able to operate trade equipment and make repairs on the park following the company's policies and procedures.
Experience with hand and power tools.
Strong work ethic, problem solving, time management, attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills including proper grammar for written and verbal communications.
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing for long periods and walking long distances within the park.
Exposure to the variable outside and inside temperatures, including high heat and cold temperatures.
Exposure to high noise levels resulting from the rides and power equipment.
Must be able to carry, push, pull, lift, hold objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to operate various vehicles, including forklifts, cars, and trucks.
Education
High school diploma / GED, 2 Year Vocational or 4 Year Degree preferred.
2 Years or more in related field or some combination of experience and education.
Speech
Critical. One-on-One conversation and communication with guests and staff, speak with guests, vendors, peers and clients by phone, radio or other device.
Availability
Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, is required

Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Athletics Maintainer is to provide students, staff, faculty and visitors with athletic facilities, that are clean, safe and efficient for use.
Supervision received: Direct supervision from the Director of Facilities
Hourly Rate: $31.08 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance of natural grass fields including mowing, trimming, seeding, aerating, top dressing, raking, grooming, field lining and game maintenance
Maintenance of artificial turf fields including grooming, blowing, turf repair, sweeping, adding infill
General upkeep of outdoor athletic areas including, spring/fall cleanup, hedge trimming, planting, pressure washing, litter pickup, trash removal
Operate, and provide basic routine maintenance to machinery such as mowers, string trimmers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers
Perform minor maintenance and basic trade skills, to make repairs on equipment and within facilities including: assembly and installation of equipment, as well as, demolition and removal of equipment
Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as: scoreboards, public address systems, timing systems, and equipment related to the different athletic programs
Move equipment and supplies around, and between athletic venues, as needed for the operation of events
Snow/ice removal operations within and around athletic venues and throughout the district, as necessary
May be asked to perform or assist with maintenance of swimming pool, as needed
Supports maintenance and cleaning of indoor athletic facilities such as gymnasiums, storage areas, locker rooms, as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
A strong understanding of field maintenance principles
Able to work effectively as part of a team
Knowledge and understanding of athletics including baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, track and field
Ability to communicate effectively, with coaches and other staff members, to ensure that the fields are maintained to a high standard
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED Diploma
Trade School experience preferred
Experience maintaining athletic facilities and fields
