About this Position Inspect and analyze the condition of all buildings and installed equipment maintained by Facilities Management. May be asked to assist with other duties related to operations, maintenance and renovations to buildings and equipment such as light duty carpentry, painting, electrical and other miscellaneous repair and maintenance activities; and respond to emergency and urgent work. There will be regular exposure to disagreeable conditions such as extreme temperature changes, odors, loud noises, cramped spaces etc. Regularly stands, lifts, bends, stoops, lifts above shoulders and carries 50 lbs or more. Appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), gloves, safety glasses, etc are provided for use in the workplace. Job requirements include occasional use of respiratory equipment. Therefore, individual is required to pass a medical exam to ensure physical ability to wear, use and perform work in respirator equipment. The employee in this position may be required to work overtime after 4 pm, shift work, and be on a rotating standby for emergencies during non-business hours including when the university is closed and/or other events after 5 pm on weekdays, weekends, and holidays when management deems necessary. The ability to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management regardless of weather will be required.
