About the Role
The Handyman/Porter is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of a beautiful condominium building at Point Ruston. This role combines light maintenance tasks with daily porter duties to ensure buildings, common areas, and
grounds are well cared for and presentable for residents and owners. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities Porter Duties
Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, lobbies, restrooms, clubhouses, and shared amenity spaces.
Perform daily groundskeeping, including litter pick-up, emptying trash receptacles, blowing walkways, garage, and removing debris.
Report any safety hazards, property damage, or irregularities to the Property Manager promptly.
Assist with trash enclosure organization and ensure compliance with waste disposal procedures.
Support property staff during resident events or community activities as needed.
Handyman / Light Maintenance Duties
Complete minor maintenance tasks in common areas, such as:
Replacing lightbulbs and basic electrical fixtures
Basic plumbing repairs (toilet flappers, clogs, faucet leaks)
Drywall patching and touch-up painting
Door, lock, and cabinet repairs
Pressure washing
Carpet cleaning
Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed.
Coordinate with vendors when larger repairs or specialized work is required.
Qualifications
Previous maintenance, handyman, or porter experience preferred.
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair practices.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk the property, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation/Schedule
$28/hour
Part Time - Tuesday through Saturday, 08:00-12:00 (20 hours per week)
