Job description: Under limited supervision, Handymen are expected to respond to provided leads in a timely manner, meet and bid the project according to company guidelines, and then complete the estimated work.
Experience required: Must have the knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully complete handymen abilities, successful interviews will be followed by a short trade exam. It is essential to understand the cost of labor and materials through past experience and conceptual understanding of the construction industry. It is necessary to accurately estimate job hours prior to starting the project. This job encompasses aspects of sales during the initial bid process and the ability to confidently and accurately provide the cost associated with different situations. You must be able to understand the natural order that these jobs must be completed in and have the ability to understand what “quality workmanship” means.
Day in the life: when you receive a lead, you are required to contact that lead within 24 hours and schedule a time to meet and service the Client's project. A normal day can consist of 1-3 service work-based projects, picking up materials, handling client needs, scheduling times to go and see clients, and completing necessary paperwork so clients are appropriately billed. This is a full-time job, Handymen are expected to bill a minimum of 35 hours a week, 20 hours a week for part-time.
