* Proven expertise with national and FDOT manuals and guides, including the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), Project Traffic Forecasting Handbook, Traffic Analysis Handbook, Multimodal Transportation Site Impact Handbook, Multimodal Access Management Guidebook, and Traffic Engineering Manual.
* Proficiency with Synchro and VISSIM, and TransModeler.

Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. The Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, supporting, and executing hydrogeological investigations for dewatering, water supply, and aquifer recharge studies for water supply clients. This candidate also will be responsible for leading a large capacity production well design and construction projects. The successful candidate should have a background in drilling groundwater production wells, familiar with deep injection well construction, ability to oversee and support groundwater flow modeling, field investigations, conduct aquifer performance tests, project management, and technical report writing. This position interacts with both internal and external clients in field and office settings. The position requires travel to sites, primarily in the central Florida area. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary for the position.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production.
- Design field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring.

We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. The Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, supporting, and executing hydrogeological investigations for dewatering, water supply, and aquifer recharge studies for water supply clients. This candidate also will be responsible for leading a large capacity production well design and construction projects. The successful candidate should have a background in drilling groundwater production wells, familiar with deep injection well construction, ability to oversee and support groundwater flow modeling, field investigations, conduct aquifer performance tests, project management, and technical report writing. - EITs to join our growing North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. We are better together. Fire Protection Engineers (FPEs) protect lives and property. They plan and design engineering projects that prevent fires from occurring and minimize the impact of those fires that do occur. Fire protection systems detect, control and reduce fire and smoke in buildings and structures. FPEs recommend materials, equipment, and systems to assist in safeguarding life and property against fire, analyze how fire behaves and model how safety features perform in a fire. They assess the fire protection needs within projects and document those in design analysis or basis of design reports. They create design documents for fire protection systems, including drawings, using computer-aided design (CAD) or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, and specifications that are used to direct the construction of buildings and systems in the field. FPEs perform construction progress inspections and acceptance tests / commissioning to ensure that installed systems comply with the construction documents and applicable codes and that they function as intended. - EIT performs engineering work under close supervision requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out a sequence of related fire protection engineering tasks such as the preparation of simple plans, designs, calculations, costs and bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards and drawings. The role applies professional concepts and expands upon learning while performing various phases of engineering work receiving detailed instruction.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Apply general concepts of fire protection engineering through investigation and analysis to support engineering projects that may include design of fire suppression systems (sprinklers and standpipes, water supply, special hazard extinguishing systems), fire detection and alarm systems, and smoke control systems, selection of fire-resistant materials and assemblies, and development of egress strategies.
- Perform basic calculations to analyze and design engineering system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Gather information to support design decisions.
- Assist team in preparing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports.
- Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
- Work with other architecture and engineering design professionals in the coordination and delivery of projects under the direction of a senior engineer.
- Assist the team in providing support services during construction, including submittal reviews, response to requests for information and contract document clarifications, construction progress inspections and acceptance testing.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Basic knowledge of interpretation and application of building and fire codes and NFPA standards.
- Knowledge of active and passive fire protection systems, including fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, smoke control systems, fire resistive construction and egress systems.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting with internal and external clients.
- Strong technical writing, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD.
- Experience with Fire Dynamics Simulator, Contam, Pathfinder and other computer modeling software is a plus.
Education and Experience
Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or other closely related engineering discipline with an emphasis in Fire Protection Engineering coursework.
Zero to three years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as those listed above.
Engineer in Training (EIT) / Engineering Intern (EI) preferred, working towards obtaining Fire Protection Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.

We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. The Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, supporting, and executing hydrogeological investigations for dewatering, water supply, and aquifer recharge studies for water supply clients. This candidate also will be responsible for leading a large capacity production well design and construction projects. The successful candidate should have a background in drilling groundwater production wells, familiar with deep injection well construction, ability to oversee and support groundwater flow modeling, field investigations, conduct aquifer performance tests, project management, and technical report writing. This position interacts with both internal and external clients in field and office settings. The position requires travel to sites, primarily in the central Florida area. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary for the position.
Your Key Responsibilities

- Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production.
- Design field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring.

Your Key Responsibilities
* Managing inter-disciplinary teams including designers, architects, engineers, and other building related professionals.

* Leads the client and project team to assure that the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
* Mentors and motivates project team members.

Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field & Registered Architect (Preferred).

The role of a Civil Engineer is to work as a team member on small and large Transportation projects. The Civil Engineer, EIT will work under direct supervision of a Senior Project Engineer to develop skills in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for a project.
A Civil Engineer performs a variety of tasks which may include assisting with typical projects including development of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, engineering reports and studies for infrastructure projects, including transportation, drainage, and CAD production.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Select and apply appropriate design criteria to perform minor, major, and complex roadway/highway transportation design assignments.
- Performs basic engineering calculations.
- Assists in the preparation of engineering project documents, pertaining to specific projects.
- Prepare high quality contract documents (plans, specifications, and estimates) for the construction of roadway/drainage projects.
- Prepares site/engineering assessments, facilitates permit sketches and permitting processes.
- Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

The role of a Civil Engineer in Training in our Community Development Business Line is to work as a team member on projects under the close guidance and supervision of a senior engineer/designer. You will work closely with a project engineer to learn how best to assist the project manager and design team with land development permitting and site design. Over time, you will take on more responsibility and increasingly work directly with project managers. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations and field work.
The position is ideal for entry level civil engineers as it will offer you exposure to a wide range of civil design principles including roadway, layout, utilities, drainage, and much more. Stantec also has a Developing Professionals Group (DPG) that has an active Sarasota chapter. DPG empowers employees to learn leadership skills early in their careers, to build peer networks, and to become more engaged with Stantec.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Supports project team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for relevant project design elements.
- Prepares and revises documentation required for land development permitting through local, state and federal jurisdictions.
- Performs quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
- Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design, sanitary sewer design, and irrigation design.
- Attends project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.

- Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
