Tampa, FL Office Lead/Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineering)
This position will lead the efforts to establish a new office in Tampa, FL. This regional leader will drive the strategic direction for all aspects of the firm's transportation department in west central area of Florida. This role is a strategic partner to the CEO and President serving as a knowledgeable advisor on a wide range of operational and transportation-related topics. This position is key to building and fostering trusted relationships with clients and employees. The Tampa lead institutes strategies that build and lead a sophisticated, performance-driven culture, deploying enhanced employee engagement and team collaboration initiatives. This individual will have excellent business acumen and a clear vision for taking charge. Working in Tampa, Florida is required.
What We're Looking For
We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:
Responsibilities:
Engage in leveraging existing clients (FDOT) to help win new business.
Develop new relationship with major prospects like Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) or Municipal/Local Government for transportation projects.
Be the primary point of contact and “face of” the transportation market in Tampa with respect to business development, teaming, and project pursuits.
Hire, build and grow a design team and lead transportation team pursuits.
Collaborate with other senior leaders on developing an annual business plan.
Provide direction and mentoring to engineering support staff.
Prepare and oversee engineering design/analysis and plans/construction contract documents, as well as author technical documents such as engineering reports, specifications, and special provisions when needed.
Manage performance for transportation projects (staffing, budget, schedule, and quality assurance).
Develop and implement a sales culture and capture strategies to achieve market revenue growth and goals.
Develop, plan, and implement departmental policies, procedures, and/or activities to ensure transportation operations run smoothly and maximize resources; engages in continued strategic examination of the department to build strong team collaboration and operational effectiveness.
Mentor the next level of leadership.
Provide transformational leadership and direction to the company's transportation function. Must be a strong champion of change with ability to influence at all levels and inspire confidence among all team members including senior leaders.
Ensure the transportation strategy is effectively aligned with the business and strategic initiatives of the organization.
Education and/or Experience:
15+ years of related work experience in transportation (DOT) and/or municipal projects.
5+ years in leading a team or department.
4- year college degree in civil engineering or related field. Master's degree desired.
Background in civil engineering or related field required.
Must be licensed PE.
Demonstrated experience developing and managing a business development pipeline, capturing large projects, and growing a backlog of business.
Extensive contacts within FDOT and local Municipal agencies.
Demonstrated success implementing strategic initiatives, meeting financial objectives, and managing related budgets.
P&L experience managing a business or department of at least $10M in revenue.
The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000 per year. It is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.

Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. The Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, supporting, and executing hydrogeological investigations for dewatering, water supply, and aquifer recharge studies for water supply clients. This candidate also will be responsible for leading a large capacity production well design and construction projects. The successful candidate should have a background in drilling groundwater production wells, familiar with deep injection well construction, ability to oversee and support groundwater flow modeling, field investigations, conduct aquifer performance tests, project management, and technical report writing. This position interacts with both internal and external clients in field and office settings. The position requires travel to sites, primarily in the central Florida area. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary for the position.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production.
- Design field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring.
- Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.
- Prepare and deliver presentations of hydrogeologic investigations to internal and external clients.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and provide input to improve hydrogeologic interpretations or client deliverables.
- Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations (record of publications, project reports, and/or public presentations will be requested).
- Ability to work independently and provide a supervisory role in the field at remote sites.
- Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of an B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Hydrogeology/Geology/Geochemistry or related field is required.
- Experience and/or course work completed in geology, hydrogeology, and production well design and construction, and aquifer test analysis is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in consulting, mining or similar field requiring regularly using and analyzing hydrogeologic data.
- Existing professional registration in Florida or ability to work towards a professional registration (PG).

This position will work within the Building & Places (B+P) organization and will provide engineering expertise in relation to Buildings, Facilities, and other Structures within Tampa B+P. Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to support our expanding business in Florida and throughout the Gulf Region. The position will also provide hydrogeology support to the Water Resources Business Line. This position is based out of Stantec's West Palm Beach office. The Hydrogeologist will report to a Hydrogeologist Team Leader and will be responsible for designing, supporting, and executing hydrogeological investigations for dewatering, water supply, and aquifer recharge studies for water supply clients. This candidate also will be responsible for leading a large capacity production well design and construction projects. The successful candidate should have a background in drilling groundwater production wells, familiar with deep injection well construction, ability to oversee and support groundwater flow modeling, field investigations, conduct aquifer performance tests, project management, and technical report writing. This position interacts with both internal and external clients in field and office settings. The position requires travel to sites, primarily in the central Florida area. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary for the position.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Develop new well designs for groundwater monitoring and groundwater production.
- Design field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater sampling; and water level monitoring.
- Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.
- Prepare and deliver presentations of hydrogeologic investigations to internal and external clients.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and provide input to improve hydrogeologic interpretations or client deliverables.
- Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations (record of publications, project reports, and/or public presentations will be requested).
- Ability to work independently and provide a supervisory role in the field at remote sites.
- Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of an B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Hydrogeology/Geology/Geochemistry or related field is required.
- Experience and/or course work completed in geology, hydrogeology, and production well design and construction, and aquifer test analysis is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in consulting, mining or similar field requiring regularly using and analyzing hydrogeologic data.
- Existing professional registration in Florida or ability to work towards a professional registration (PG).

Responsibilities
Position requires experience in analysis and review of topographic lidar data, topobathymetric data, vector data (2D and 3D), Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), Digital Surface Models (DSMs), imagery, and derivative products for state, federal, and private clients across the US. Experience with creating automated lidar classification algorithms (TerraSolid Products) preferred. Strong candidates will also have a good, conceptual understanding of fundamental remote sensing concepts and geospatial processes for various products, e.g. how lidar sensors work, basic GPS ground survey procedures, airborne lidar trajectory processing, interaction of light and water for bathymetry applications, and ortho-imagery processing.

Work with the Product Line Lead to assist in the execution of projects, on time and within budget.
Data Management and Handling: Planning and monitoring production data, management needs and working with IT and Operations to ensure adequate resources are available; Ensuring data management protocols are met including the use of proper files and formats as well as file locations, storage, and backups.
Perform work that appropriately follows all quality control steps and practices are implemented throughout processes to ensure deliverables meet client specifications.
Provide feedback and support for developing and/or updating SOPs as necessary.
