What you'll be doing:
You will monitor and maintain the quality standards set forth by Harder Mechanical Contractors and ensure that all standards are met, comply with local and state regulations and continuously improve quality of work. You will work closely with other field team members to set quality standards, make suggestions to improve production without hindering quality of work. Required to supervise other Quality Control staff as assigned.
Quality Control Manager at Harder perform the following daily tasks:
Supervise quality control inspectors, field team, and work to ensure all quality standards are met
Oversee operations and procedures to make sure there are no deviations from the quality requirements and standards
Track quality control statistics, and complete necessary documentation
Inspect field work, and work with the Quality Control team to perform necessary tests and quality control assessments on-site

Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, and 3D Modeling software (Autodesk products preferred)
Working knowledge of Autodesk Plant 3D software
Ability to communicate and work professionally with a broad spectrum of people including employees, craft, and clients
Knowledge of quality control legal standards and procedures
Organized and productive
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks on an ongoing basis
Education/Experience:
5+ years of experience with strong 3D piping knowledge

A current or previous AWS CWI or LEV II certification

The Role We Want You For
This position will assist in managing the flow of technical information between the Steel Project Management team, customers, subcontractors and vendors, while developing critical relationships with internal and external clients, through verbal and written communication. This position will collaborate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are executed smoothly.
The Specifics of the Role
Coordinate resolution of discrepancies and/or missing information with customers and design teams
Coordinate project sequencing and job setup
Provide technical instructions and guidance to steel detailers in preparing shop drawings per project requirements and standards
Monitor project schedules regarding submittals, approvals, and shop fabrication releases. Identify and communicate possible delays or problems to project management team
Organize detailing RFI process through formal RFI to customer and informal RFI's with the engineer, architect, and general contractor. Facilitates and fulfills other documentation efforts and duties
Distribute and route drawings
Maintain daily communication with Project Team on progress of areas of responsibility
Assist the Project Team in achieving successful project results
Serve as a direct link between Project Managers, Estimators, and the Detailers
Knowledge of contract drawings and trade specific drawings
Responsible for participation in site visits to collaborate with project teams on design needs and direction.
May occasionally travel to fabrication shops and provide in-shop fabrication coordination through duration of the projects
Obtain bids from material suppliers and subcontractors
Performs material takeoffs to assist in creation of change orders or project estimates, and the procurement of material needed
Perform other duties as required

The manager will report to our CFO. This role requires deep, proven experience in real estate development and residential construction combined with advanced applied AI, data, and enterprise systems expertise.
The manager can work on-site or have a hybrid schedule.
This individual will lead the transformation of fragmented data and disconnected systems into a clean, structured, AI-ready ecosystem that improves efficiency, reduces costs, enhances forecasting, and elevates the customer experience. This is not a research role-this position focuses on practical, secure, ROI-driven AI embedded directly into daily workflows.
This is a full-time, individual contributor role with enterprise-wide responsibility and visibility.
