What We Do

Loft Orbital builds “shareable” satellites, providing a fast & simple path to orbit for organizations that require access to space. Powered by our hardware & software products, we operate satellites, fly customer payloads onboard, and handle entire missions from end to end - significantly reducing the lead-time and risk of a traditional space mission.

Our standard interface enables us to fly multiple customer payloads on the same satellite, with capabilities such as earth imagery, weather & climate /science data collection, IoT connectivity, in-orbit demonstrations, and national security missions. Our customers trust us to manage their space infrastructure, so they can focus on what matters most to them: operating their mission and collecting their data.

With 2 satellites on-orbit and a wave of exciting missions launching soon, we are scaling up quickly across our offices in San Francisco, CA | Golden, CO | and Toulouse, France.

The tech will be the hands on support, working with the engineer towards successful drawing and manufacturing designs that equate to the build up and test of Lofts Spacecraft and various test equipment, GSE, and simulators. You are the point of contact for activities on the laboratory and manufacturing floor, ensuring the operations and proper support material are ready to execute. Although very hands-on in assembly and test of the hardware, you are also the check and balance to the engineer, owning the activities and showing pride in ownership.

Must Haves:Hands-on experience with flight hardware with an emphasis on electrical OR mechanical, strong understanding of the other Meticulously detail orientated and pride in ownership of work performed Trained in FOD awareness and mitigation techniques ESD and cleanroom trained, understanding how to set-up and maintain a lab and manufacturing floor environment Trained in using laboratory equipment and measuring techniques with DMM, O-Scopes, Logic Analyzers, Signal AnalyzersUnderstand how to read engineering drawings and provide feedback to engineering on assembly approaches and Design for Test and Manufacturing guidelines Plus is an understanding of Spacecraft unique test equipment, RF Test Consoles, ConSims, Spacecraft Test Consoles and their operating languages RF Test and integration a plus Plus is running environmental facilities, Vibration, TVAC, or EMI/EMCTake ownership of the manufacturing space, ensuring safe and successful execution of Spacecraft, GSE, Sim, and flat-sat integration and test

MileOne is expanding our IT team and hiring several full time Hardware Support Technicians.

The Hardware Support Technician will be working both independently and within a team to complete daily tasks in a fast paced, high volume environment. This candidate will be responsible for providing both on the phone and on-site software support, hardware installation and hardware maintenance for the user. The position will be responsible for supporting our dealerships primarily in the Maryland area, along with occasional on-site support to surrounding states.
Some nights and weekends will be required for this position.

Essential Duties:
Install and configure computer & phone equipment, including site preparation Install and configure network and printer devices Perform diagnostics, repairs, upgrades and ongoing support for PC hardware Review and maintain current virus protection updates during onsite visits Perform diagnostics, repair and ongoing support for software including MAC, Windows 10 desktops, Unix, Linux, Terminal Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and manufacturer web portals Assist in managing administrative tasks such as physical inventory of hardware and software license compliance Cell phone and other various Telecom support, training, installation Inspect and Identify cable drops Patch drops into switch ports Troubleshoot wiring issues Escalate to Tier 2 as needed

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of hardware field service experience Thorough knowledge of hardware products and software capabilities Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Active DirectoryWorking knowledge of Mobile Device ManagementMicrosoft Windows networking and LAN/WAN experience Excellent communication and customer service skillsA detailed knowledge of TCP/IP and IP addressing Knowledge of Internet protocols, access methods, and equipment Must be self-motivated and self-directed Must be willing to answer calls after normal working hours Ability to lift 50 lbs

Candidate must have a HS Diploma -OR- 2+ years of experience in the following:
Being physically present in the lab and occasionally moving lifting and moving systems and equipment weighing around 20 pounds.Assembling a computer platform from a given set of components/parts and a set of required software specifications.BIOS/UEFI configurations , as well as installing different Operating Systems, Software Drivers OR Software Applications.

Preferred skills:
Building/installing/debugging client computer systems (including Intel internal client platforms or from components) on Windows. Linux experience a plus.Working knowledge of benchmarks/workloads/analysis/power measurement is a plus.Understanding of client system and CPU architecture and what contributes to client performance and power use is a plus.
