American Heart Association HeartSaver First Aid CPR AED required prior to transporting patients, within 14 days of hire
AVADE workplace violence prevention training Levels 1 and 2 required after hire, not to exceed 90 days, and maintained annually. Training provided in-house
Six (6) years of driving experience, preferred

Responsibilities include:
Operating the facility's transport bus in a safe manner; ensuring the bus is clean with a full tank of gas each day. Alerting the facility administrator when the vehicle needs to be serviced, inspected and registration renewed.
Coordinating with Nursing residents' appointments for the next day to ensure residents are ready for their pick up time as well as to ensure the schedule and routes are confirmed eliminating conflicts to avoid missed appointments.
Greeting the resident at their nursing unit, assisting them on/off the bus and into/out of physicians' offices, etc.
Being friendly and professional at all times; interacts well with residents, care providers and co-workers. Understands they represent Chestnut Hill Lodge and always demonstrates integrity and a positive outlook.
Working some holidays, weekend days and additional hours based on the facility's needs.
Candidates must have:
Pennsylvania driver's license that is unexpired and in good standing.
2 years of experience driving a transport bus, ambulance or similar vehicle.
2 years of work experience that required interaction with patients, rehabilitation clients and/or long term care residents.

What You'll Do:
Plans routes and coordinates and maintains open communication with transportation coordinator.
Adheres to time schedules. Picks up or drops off residents at designated locations in a timely manner.
Assists residents in and out of vehicles and with door to door drop off or pick up as necessary. Utilizes resident lift on bus as necessary.
Assists with the loading and unloading of packages as necessary. Secures wheelchairs or packages as necessary.
Exhibits excellence customer service; is courteous and professional with residents. Keeps passengers informed of possible delays.
Obeys traffic laws and local, state and federal transit regulations. Follows procedures to ensure passenger safety.
Refuels vehicle as needed. Keeps vehicle clean, e.g., vacuums/cleans inside regularly and schedules/maintains car washes.
Performs daily visual inspection of vehicle and reports needed maintenance items on a timely basis. Properly completes incident or accident reports when necessary. Maintains logs or other records as requested.
Participates in the QAPI Program as needed. Makes recommendations as needed if areas of improvement in transportation are needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Age of 21 years
Valid driver's license (non-CDL) with a clean driving record.
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
AED certification required
Successful completion of Emergency Vehicle Operators course conducted by the Delaware State Fire School
