Pros of working at Harper College

They still operate on a hybrid schedule for most employees and also allow complete remote WFH for some non-student-facing positions. The campus is beautiful, but that is the point. It is all show and no substance.

Cons of working at Harper College

Inept President. She is more interested in photo shoots and publicity than in making any meaningful change. Her cabinet is event worse and the head of HR is worthless. There are so many administrators that make 6 figure salaries that do absolutely no work! They delegate all of the actual work to overworked, underpaid staff. The majority of staff is making $50k or less and that is nothing in this economy. But they won't hire more people. Make you think they don't have the money, but then have meetings and pat themselves on the back for having a surplus of funds they don't know what to do with. And the cherry on top is that their technical infrastructure is a jenky mess of cobbled-together programs and they will not allow any criticism of their work. They know nothing about IT security and pass that off to departments to handle, while simultaneously tying their hands so they can't actually get any work done.
