Job Title: Facilities Technician E - Cascade HVAC/R Job Code: 32345 Job Location: Cincinnati, OH Job Schedule: 4/10; Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Job Description: This position is for an HVAC Technician whose primarily responsibilities are to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a broad spectrum of test chambers including ultra-low temp, cascade refrigeration systems, chillers, ovens, and HVAC units located throughout the campus. This position will require the candidate to perform system controller upgrades, required calibrations, and retrofits to existing equipment. Other duties of this role include conducting routine and/or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will use both hand and power tools while performing tests, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of machines and equipment. The use of blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications are required. This is a first shift position. The current first shift schedule is 4x 10s, Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM. There is some flexibility with start and stop times. Occasional Friday and/or Saturday overtime may be required. Essential Functions: Primary responsibilities: + Install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance of HVAC/R systems and cascade systems, environmental test chambers, and ovens. + Perform calibration of temperature chambers, ovens, and other related devices, adjusting PID loops as necessary. + Install and maintain piping relative to facility HVAC/R processes. + Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. + Install and program system controllers for Watlow F4T, Solutions Plus, Thermotron, Envirotronics/Weiss Technik, ESPEC, etc. + Perform thermal surveys of temperature chambers. + Responsible for the quality of own work, for care of tools, and removal of waste and surplus after job completion. Secondary responsibilities: + Maintain and repair the facility's structure, equipment, and grounds, including all trades (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.). + Install, align, dismantle, and move plant equipment in conformance with plant and facility layout. + Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting, in the construction, repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs, or office fixtures. Qualifications: + High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 6 years of prior related experience. + 6 years or more experience in the operation, repair, and tuning of cascade refrigeration systems. + 6 years or more experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. + Must be able to work on lifts and ladders, lift over 50 pounds, and work in extreme temperature and high humidity conditions either inside or outside the building as necessary. + Must have a Universal EPA Certificate. + Based on site requirements, must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance. Familiarity of U.S. military organizations, maintenance and sustainment processes and procedures, and the DoD's IPS elements Familiarity with turbine engine systems and demonstrated knowledge of logistics and sustainment processes for military turbine engines Minimum of 4 years of experience related to the role responsibilities Minimum of 2 years of military or DoD related industry experience Ability to work full-time, on-site at GE Aerospace headquarters in Cincinnati, OH; due to security requirements there are very limited work from home or remote opportunities Ability to travel to customer sites as needed (estimated 10% travel requirement) This role is restricted to U.S. Citizens Must have or qualify for a U.S. Government Secret Clearance This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
