Managers oversee Heavy-Duty Tow Drivers, which includes but is not limited to Scheduling, Interpersonal issues, and training. Standard (40) hour week, weekend availability is a must. The primary role of a Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment. + Update patient information and collect/store specimens according to established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously, including blood drawing and other specimen collection such as urine or fecal samples. + Demonstrate proper techniques using straight and/or butterfly needles. + Understand and follow all physician orders accurately. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order. + Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels match the script 100%. + Package specimens for transport and store samples at the required temperature in the appropriate collection container/tube. + Accurately label and follow procedures specific to protocol to maintain specimen integrity during transport. + Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. + Attend annual department training sessions. + Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results as needed.
