Specific Responsibilities Mechanic II performs a variety of duties that may require a degree of skill and ability in the repair, modification and maintenance of machinery and related mechanical equipment. He/she may assist senior level mechanics in dismantling and assembling equipment/machines; repairing and replacing parts. * Responsible for Daily Operation and Maintenance of compressors, glycol dehydration unit, B-Tex unit, incinerator, slop tanks, sumps, transfer pumps, "control air" air compressors and all equipment associated with compressor facility. * Perform Daily checks, but not limited too; * Glycol PH and adjust accordingly. * Glycol pumps flow rate and pressures. * Temperatures on compressor valves, pressure readings and flow rates. * Check for proper operation of all sumps and dump valves. * Check all fluid levels and operation of lubricators. * Check air compressors, filters, oil levels, belts, pressures and bleed lines. * Check for leaks, loose bolts, vibration or unusual noises by making visual inspection at least three times per day on all equipment. * Accurately record all above information and any performed maintenance. * Become certified on CO2 line, DIG TESS, location, Right of Way, signage, valve operation etc. * Attend all DIG TESS notifications, reply accordingly and record. * Perform oil changes on all equipment in a timely manor and record. * Make notifications when problems are suspected. * Order, stock and label spare equipment needed to keep facility in operation, in an orderly fashion. * Keep facility clean and neat * Operate in a Safe and environmentally sound manner. * Stay in contact with vendors for equipment, oils, chemicals and filters for updated revisions and recommendations. * Behavioral Characteristics * Team player willing to take active role in team responsibilities. * Excellent time management skills. * Ability to learn new skills. * Willingness to share knowledge with others. * Good written and oral communication skillS * Safety * Operate in a Safe and environmentally sound manner. The Avionics Aircraft Mechanic III may supervise lower skilled mechanics and assist with troubleshooting malfunctions in flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, and auxiliary power unit for CH-53E aircraft. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Aircraft communications/navigation/electrical systems technicians, CH-53E, install, remove, inspect, test, maintain, and repair systems, components, and ancillary equipment of installed Aircraft Communications/Navigation/Electrical Systems to include Deceptive Electronic Countermeasures (DECM) Systems at the Organizational Maintenance Activity (OMA) level. Must possess a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, and micrometers. Requires working knowledge of technical publications. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. Removes, repairs, modifies, tests, troubleshoots, calibrates, and installs electrical systems, equipment and accessories used in aircraft; makes functional checks on electrical systems to ensure performance and reliability and correct malfunctions disclosed by static, ground, and flight tests; and replaces defective wiring and installs new wiring for aircraft changes, modifications and repairs. Overhauls, repairs, modifies and tests aircraft electrical system accessories such as motors, dynamotors, inverters, voltage regulators, relays, cutouts, engine synchronizers, electric motor driven air compressors and activators, DC generators, AC alternators, DC/AC electrical controls, cockpit air conditioning controls, engine temperature controls, and transistorized control equipment, etc. Installs, troubleshoots, calibrates, and tests complex electrical systems and devices on military aircraft to ensure precise performance and reliability of all electrical systems. Sets up test positions using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, audio signal generators, frequency meters, voltmeters, watt meters and ammeters. Tests the various units for compliance with the proper tolerances prescribed for transient time, noise amplitude, and frequencies; adjusts resonant circuits, computes alternative current loads; and makes all necessary adjustments to bring the units up to prescribed operational standards. Performs all duties in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) and Commander Naval Air Forces Instruction 4790.2B. Job duties require that this mechanic: adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, conducts maintenance inspections, and performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft. Assists with the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition. Performs duties of a Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) and ensures all maintenance is performed and inspected in accordance with the NAMP and is accountable to the quality assurance officer and aircraft maintenance officer within the Maintenance Department. The Flight Line Aircraft Mechanic troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, and auxiliary power unit for CH-53E aircraft. This mechanic may supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft, makes adjustments and settings such as cable tension and seat movement settings and adjustments; obtains standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and by making comparisons with samples, may perform pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed, and services engines and aircraft components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. The CH-53E Worker is responsible for inspecting and maintaining rotor airframes and airframe components and performs duties relating to flight line operation. Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removes engine from aircraft, disassembles and inspects parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairs or replaces defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Uses standard aircraft handling and taxi procedures in accordance with (IAW) Naval Aviation Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS), specific aircraft manuals, and local regulations, to support the host squadron. Launches aircraft IAW published flight schedules or as needed to support emergencies. Performs Recovery (pre-positioning support equipment and aircraft directing), including hot brake checks, post flight servicing, static grounding (aircraft to ground) and chocks. Performs acceptance, conditional, daily, phase, pre D-Level, post D-Level, special, transfer, turnaround and zonal aircraft inspections and preoperational and periodic inspections on SE IAW Maintenance Requirements Cards (MRC) and NAVAIR technical manuals. Pre/Post-Op checks, fueling and operation of SE, tools, Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL) and Naval Aviation Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) assigned to the Power Line work center, to include conditional/scheduled inspections and periodic maintenance. Performs all duties in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) and Commander Naval Air Forces Instruction 4790.2B. Job duties require that this mechanic: adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, conduct maintenance inspections, and perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft.
