Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Assists in civil, criminal and traffic investigations, which involves gathering of evidence, marking, preserving and protection the same for judicial use, interviews witnesses, suspected perpetrators and victims. Assists in the interrogations of suspects; completes investigative reports and all reports, as required. Physically arrests criminal perpetrators. A Deputy Sheriff must be able to give clear, honest testimony in Court. Serves arrest warrants. Transports mental patients, prisoners and blood to area hospitals or other security facilities, delivers death notices to family. May be required to operate motor vehicles and other equipment associated with law enforcement and may be required to repeatedly perform small mechanical motions of keys and other devices used on a continuing basis and requiring a medium ability to accomplish. May be required to arrest and/or transport persons during all hours and weather conditions. May be required to work in other divisions of the Sheriff's Office. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must have the ability to analyze various situations and react accordingly within split seconds. * Ten (10) years of experience as a probation or parole officer.
* Train the Trainer certification in a recognized evidence-based practice such as thinking for a change, decision points or motivational interviewing.
* Demonstrated experience completing Pre-Sentence Investigations, Probation Violation Reports and/or Minnesota Pre-Trial Assessment tool, sentencing guideline worksheets and other risk/needs assessments.
* Experience working with a wide range of justice-involved individuals, from juveniles to adults and from misdemeanants to felony offenders.
* A demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.

In addition, BSU is the first university in the United States to expose all of its students to a course on Indigenous people before graduation.

The City of Bemidji
Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College lie amid the lakes and forests of northern Minnesota. Bemidji State occupies a wooded campus along the western shore of Lake Bemidji while Northwest Technical College lies just three miles east, near Bemidji's robust industrial district.
The city sits between Minnesota's three largest American Indian tribal nations: the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, the Red Lake Nation and the White Earth Nation. When settling the Bemidji area in 1750, the Ojibwe people named the lake Bemidjigamaag, which means "a lake with crossing waters" as the Mississippi River flows in from the south and exits on the east. Today, a city proper with a population of around 15,000 serves as a regional economic and cultural hub for about 100,000 Minnesotans.

An expansive network of multi-use trail systems is available for running, cross-country skiing, single-track or fat-tire biking, and skijoring. Bemidji is also near two of Minnesota's 66 state parks: Lake Bemidji State Park, which sits along Lake Bemidji's northern shore, and Itasca State Park, home to the majestic Mississippi River Headwaters. · Opens and or closes ticket window as required.
· Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes changes accurately.
· Maintains accurate count when selling hard tickets or accesses computer for computer printed tickets.
· Completes daily ticket sales report. Keeps accurate daily balance sheet of cash received and tickets sold; balances sales and change bank and submits cash to Box Office supervisor or manager for audit.
· Fills reservations for seats by telephone or mail, handles Will-Call window according to procedures, or other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
· Demonstrates excellent customer service skills; responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance, able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.
· Efficiently and courteously answers questions concerning prices, seating, and events. Gives information concerning coming attractions.
· Files various records and reports. Performs related clerical work as assigned.
