I’ve spent my entire career in the health and community services space, working with both for-profit and non-profit business owners and leaders. My training is in business and information technology and I learned very early on that technology is just a tool - it is the outcome that matters.

Throughout my career, and as the Managing Partner of the Health and Community Services Practice at Hartman Executive Advisors, I’ve worked with leaders who are struggling to see real results from all the money continually invested in information technology.

The answer is clear. Align technology investments with business goals. The execution is the challenge. Often the breakdown is between well-meaning technology managers, who understand tech but don’t really understand the business. And business leaders, who want to understand the whys and hows of prioritizing their investments, not the latest technology buzzwords.

This is a gap that business-focused IT leadership serves. Specifically, it’s the role of a Chief Information Officer who understands business goals and strategic plans, and can lead the investment in people, process, and technology to execute that plan.

At Hartman, we know small to mid-size organizations can’t afford and don’t need a full-time Chief Information Officer. They do need someone who can offer them the un-biased, independent advice they need, in a way they can afford.

We provide that through our part-time, co-sourced IT leadership and advisory service. My team and I are completely independent and don’t re-sell or benefit in any way from another company’s products or services. Our clients know our advice, recommendations, and actions are in their best interest.
