Be willing to serve as a member of the Emergency Team (E-Team). Assist with oversight of the E-Team training program. This includes coordinating off-site training and coordinating on-site training. Assist with interface with local agencies such as the Police and Fire Departments, Emergency Management Agency, surrounding industry, and OSHA. Communicate with outside emergency responders on unique first aid requirements for exposure to chemicals such as hydrogen fluoride. Coordinate the selection of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) based on the chemicals involved and the task to be completed. Train personnel are in the proper way to wear and care for the PPE provided. Serve as a member of special teams and help lead the periodic safety meetings such as the monthly Plant Safety meeting. Participate in incident investigations, especially when occupational health issues are involved. Complete small capital projects to support the safety department. WLRH Public Radio in Huntsville, Alabama (a licensee of Alabama Public Television) is seeking a full-time Promotions/Membership Specialist. The Promotions/Membership Specialist will work collaboratively with the Director of Radio and other WLRH staff members to help with membership, station events and other fund-raising activities. This position will also help communicate with WLRH's leadership donors and community partners to generate membership support. In addition, this position will perform general office duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities Assist WLRH staff members in creating and executing promotional plans for news stories, special programming and community outreach efforts. Participate during fundraising and open house events. Coordinate with the General Manager to support underwriting and membership activities. Assist with daily management of our website. Manage front office area and telephones to assist with questions from listeners, members and community partners. Display an understanding of the relationship between WLRH's programming and its listening audience. Oversee and maintain the member database and serve as primary point of contact for listener-members. Manage the station's Public Service Announcement (PSA) program, including recording and scheduling ensuring compliance with FCC guidelines. Assist Underwriting/Development teams in cultivating corporate donors.
