Hartung Glass has been serving the Pacific Northwest since 1924, when F.L. Hartung started a small glazing shop in the industrial area of Seattle, WA. Today, Hartung Glass has manufacturing and distribution facilities that stretch from British Columbia to Indiana.
Begun as F. L. Hartung in 1924 as a wholesale glass distributor
In mid-1999, the 80-year-old Tukwila glass-fabrication company joined seven others under the umbrella of a holding company they dubbed United Glass Corp., based in Kingsport, Tenn.
The original 1999 roll-up was assembled by Sterling City Capital, which financed it through a $80 million credit facility led by Bank of America, and a $15 million bridge loan from Fleet Corporate Finance Inc.
