    Disciplinary Area: The Department of Theatre Arts at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, one-semester (Spring 2026) term appointment as a National Endowment for Humanities (NEH)-funded Artist-in-Residence starting in January 2026, pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with expertise in directing for the stage, with preference given to those with successful directing experience at the college and/or professional level. Minimum qualifications include an MFA or PhD (in theatre-related field) by the time of the appointment. Successful directing experience at the university and professional level will also be considered. Specific teaching assignments will include directing a mainstage performance, teaching a play analysis course, and helping with senior theses advising. Depending on other experience, the artist might help with courses in stage management or a design area. Teaching load for this one-semester appointment will be 9 credit hours or their equivalent.
