Communicate appropriately and clearly to the Center Director and Director of Nursing. Clinically 1. Assisting the physician during the procedure he/she must maintain a/be able to a. Working knowledge of scopes, maintenance, and care. b. Assist in the performance of surgical procedures, and biopsy. c. Label specimens correctly. d. Assist in transport of patient to recovery if needed. 2. Communicate patient information to the recovery RN. 3. Prepare room, anticipate and check all equipment needs prior to procedure. 4. Treat family and patients with respect and dignity. 5. Carry out medical and procedural aseptic techniques and universal precautions. 6. Meet current documentation standards and policies and complete them during each workday. 7. Assist in the positioning of the patient. 8. Report changes in the patient condition or reports of pain appropriately to RN or physician 9. Assist in Code situation. 10. Maintain safe environment for patient, coworkers and self. 11. Assist in the par levels and need for supplies by tracking and reporting to the Surgical Coordinator/Materials Manager 12. Contact Reps for implants and supplies needed for surgery. 13. Maintain logs needed in the cleaning area for chemicals and equipment use. 14. Perform other jobs as assigned. Professionally 1. Adhere to the dress code; appearance is neat and clean. 2. Complete annual educational requirements. 3. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. 4. Report to work on time, and as scheduled with flexibility to the schedule. 5. Comply with ALL policies and procedures. Job Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited surgical technician program. Experience: 3 plus years' experience in Hospital or Ambulatory setting. Certification: From a technical school recognized by the State Special Training: must have had or willing to have training in management and administration.
