Harvest Preparatory Academy is a public charter school serving PreK-12. HPA is dedicated to providing students a dynamic academic program of student centered instruction in a college preparatory setting. We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Highly Qualified PE/Health Teacher. Duties: Prepare lesson plans and instruct students in accordance with established curriculum and student need. Assess student needs and performance. Develop, implement and evaluate daily lesson plans, to include scheduled activities and materials. Modify instruction to meet the needs of each child. Plan, organize and display classroom materials appropriate to curricular activities. Uses and implement classroom management techniques to maintain organization, orderliness, student safety, and a productive learning environment. Plans instruction and implement instructional techniques to encourage and motivate students. Evaluate students' performance regarding achievements in curriculum and activities. Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs. Ensure parents and students are informed of methods of evaluation used in the classroom. Inform parents of student progress and school activities. Advise parents of instructional methods that may assist student. Participates as a member of an instructional team to promote learning activities for students, consistent with district and school education objectives. Notify site administrator of the special needs of students who display characteristics that vary from the norm. Collaborate with specialists as needed to assist students. Observe behavior of children in the classroom and on the playground. May monitor the activities of a teacher assistant and classroom volunteers. Qualifications: Must be Highly Qualified per No Child Left Behind, ADE Guidelines. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, fingerprint clearance card, and passing score on Health AEPA required for Highly Qualified status. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work cooperatively with all members of the staff and communicate effectively with parents. At least one year of field experience (student teaching) or approved internship. Previous work (professional) references, three letters of recommendation or a placement file.

ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES: Serve as a positive role model to the players and parents. Knowledge of Basketball techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility. Preside over team activities including all scheduled team practices and games. Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team. Monitor players personal conduct during games. Manage equipment and playing facilities in a responsible manner. Performs related duties as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work well with children of various ages; basic knowledge of Basketball; willingness to learn and follow District rules and guidelines regarding youth sports; prior coaching experience is helpful but not required. Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be: Previous experience in coaching children in some type of sport. Job DescriptionSalary: DOE JOB PURPOSE:The Athletic Coordinator will oversee the athletics schedules for all sports and serve as the liaison between teachers, coaches, administration, and athletics department. In addition, they will act as oversight for all items related to extracurricular sports. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a diversity of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Flexibility to travel to Phoenix for games and practices up to 2 times per week. Willingness to obtain coaching certification, such as the NFHS Coaches Certification course. Must be able to drive for away games and practices as needed. Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card (we can assist you with the application process). Schedule: Practices: Monday to Friday, 2:40 pm - 5:30 pm; Wednesday practices from 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm (except game days). Games: Weekday evenings (times may vary). Travel: Travel to Phoenix required up to 2 times per week for games and practices. Compensation: Stipend ranges from $750 to $1,000 for the season (depending on the position).
