Overview In this role, you will monitor all quality activities on a project and ensure compliance with the Quality Implementation Plan (QIP). You will participate in design phase activities and document reviews. You should understand design documents and performs precons, first work in place, and periodic inspections to ensure compliance with the design documents. Promotes the use of materials, finishes, and details with excellent long-term quality performance. Your Responsibilities Will Include: * Initiates a Quality Implementation Plan (QIP) for each assigned project. Design Phase: * Leads design quality kick-off meetings and ensures 30% and 100% design reviews are completed and signed. * Identifies quality risks and develops mitigation strategies early. * Reviews final design documents and geotechnical reports; advises project leadership on critical findings. * Ensures geotechnical, concrete, and envelope design reviews are conducted. Construction Phase: * Leads construction quality kick-off meetings. * Oversees mechanical piping QA/QC, including weld inspections, material verification, hydrostatic testing, and compliance with project specifications and codes. * Assists with selecting and managing independent testing labs; oversees schedules, contracts, reports, and results distribution. * Finalizes quality risk mitigation plans. * Ensures preconstruction meetings, first work inspections, and site observations are completed as per QIP. * Conducts QA inspections, documents deficiencies, and monitors corrective actions. Closeout Phase: * Ensures completion conferences and AE punch list reviews are conducted and documented. * Performs final QA inspections, verifies resolution of deficiencies, and conducts lessons learned meetings. * Prepares and distributes lessons learned and final QIP reports. Additional Duties: * Produces timely, well-structured QA reports. * Escalates potential liabilities and trends to QA leadership; submits monthly QIP summaries. * Participates in QIP audits and monthly team meetings. * Completes at least 8 hours of professional development annually. * Conducts at least one quality training session per year. An Estimator prepares estimates for various projects, shares responsibility for cost accuracy with project team and assists other estimators and managers in all types of estimating tasks. Duties & Responsibilities Prepares estimates for potential projects, using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating. Reads and understands contract documents (plans, specifications & addenda). Performs quantity take-offs, organizes and prices information. Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. Communicates with subs and suppliers to clarify pricing information. Prepares estimate formats in such areas as general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs and bid analysis. Assists with the preparation of bid proposal for submittal. Prepares outline schedules for proposed projects. Assists staff members with various special projects related to estimating. Performs other related duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management related field, or equivalent education and experience. At least 1 year experience in estimating commercial construction projects, showing competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating. Excellent working knowledge of Timberline and Excel software. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word. Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Job Summary A Project HSE Manager is an integral member of a project team and they are highly dedicated to the health and well-being of others. In addition to serving as a safety resource for their teammates, their main function is to facilitate Sundt HS&E programs. This position includes three 'steps' (I, II and Sr.), which provide for a progression of skill and experience. Step I is the entry level for individuals with a short experience in safety and they typically report to another Project HSE Manager. Individuals in step II have the capability of managing small to medium size/complexity projects on their own. Responsible for implementing corporate, field, and office ESH policies and procedures across assigned business units and/or project sites. The Assistant Project Manager assists in the planning, management, and execution of work for assigned construction projects. May be assigned one or more projects at a time. Manages projects to meet quality standards, owner expectations, and profitability. Assesses and responds to customer needs and cultivates customer relationships. Promotes Layton business philosophies and assists in training project personnel. This position operates nationally and requires relocation to the project site. Participates in project schedule updates as needed. * Develops the monthly client pay requests and follows up on the collection of billings to ensure funds are collected as per the contract terms & in a timely manner. * Controls the payment of job and subcontractor costs based on construction progress, document review and approval and coordinates with the job cost accountant for payments and lien releases. * Participates in monthly job cost reviews to declare project status and increases project profitability and promotes Layton objectives and goals. * Manages project material and equipment procurement within the project budget constraints and consistent with the project delivery schedule. * Develops and monitors project quality, safety, and risk management plans. * Negotiates owner and subcontractor change orders and manages the resulting schedule, cost, and profit impacts. * Attends, directs as needed, and may take notes for project team meetings, including weekly Owner/Architect meetings and subcontractor and other coordination meetings. * Coordinates all final close out procedures for the project including as-built drawing, punch lists, final billing, occupancy permit, owner acceptance, project manuals, warranty letters, subcontractor close out, letter of substantial completion, and letter of recommendation. * Participates in the post completion project review and provides Preconstruction with information for their database. * Trains and mentors project and field engineers and other team members as needed. * Manages project engineers to assure project construction compliance through reviewing, submitting, and following up on submittals, Requests for Information, document revisions, and other documentation to avoid delays and additional risk to the project. * Updates and implements software programs for collaboration, quality, and document management. * Develops and maintains owner relationships. * Performs other related duties as assigned. The ESH Coordinator actively supports Layton Construction project teams to ensure the effective implementation of environmental, safety, and health standards at site level. Monitors safety conditions and works with the project team to ensure consistentenforcement of OSHA and Layton Construction standards and policies. Assist ESH Manager to investigate accidents and serious near misses, collecting initial data relevant to the investigation. Monitors workers compensation issues on Layton projects and works closely with the ESH Manager to collect and report timely and accurate information. Conducts or assists project team site-specific safety orientations. Participates in pre-construction meetings for Layton projects, highlighting project safety needs and issues. Assists project team and case managers with injury management to ensure cost effective industrial medical care is provided. Conducts industrial hygiene surveys as necessary to detect gases and noise, conductrespiration fit tests. Provide support as required to VP-Field Operations and Human Resources personnel toensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and Worker's Compensation law. Provide safety related training to employees and sub-contractor employees at site level as assigned. Participate in monthly corporate Safety Committee meetings.
