Strong experience in bulk earthworks, site grading, storm drainage, access roads, and utility layout for medium to large-scale projects. Get your work done through others. Supervisory Responsibility This position manages the Civil design team (Engineers and CAD drafters) within the department. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position and may require longer hours and occasional weekend work. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's and/or degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. 3+ years of experience in solar PV system design. Must be proficient in AutoCAD and related Autodesk software. Demonstrated civil, structural and mechanical design skills, and the ability to generate accurate, highly detailed construction drawings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Registration as an Engineer in training and following a pathway towards professional registration is recommended Additional Eligibility Qualifications Willingness and ability to clearly define objectives, exercise sound technical judgment, take on increasing levels of responsibility and thrive in a small, flexible and dynamic work environment. Must take accountability of own body of work, closing each project by design completion efficiently, while maintaining accuracy and strict attention to detail. Strong ability to apply innovative and creative skills to problem solving. Experience with on-site troubleshooting of technology and automation of manual processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred. North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required. Advanced computer skills in AutoCad, Civil 3D, Microsoft, and Stormwater Modeling programs. Exercise good judgment: consider the relative costs and benefits of alternative solutions to choose the most appropriate one.
