Job DescriptionDays (7a-7p)

• Responsible for the transportation of stock from the carding area to the spinning department
• Take empty cans back to the carding department or the designated holding areas with pullcat
• Load the trailers with full cans of stock and transport to spinning frames without damaging the stock
• Must be able to maneuver 80 -100 pounds in a push and pull motion (load/unload onto trailer and off of and IDF carding machine).
• Stock should be replaced as it runs out or is requested by the operator
• Sweep designated areas twice per shift
• Responsible for keeping trailer wheels clean for optimal operation
• Maintain a clean vent on side of pullcat.
• Maintain proper lifting procedures when changing battery of pullcat
• Report any unsafe conditions or practices to management immediately
• Perform any other duties assigned by management

SUCCESS FACTORS/JOB COMPETENCIES:

Previous forklift experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

High School Diploma or GED

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to learn and perform all scheduled job procedures independently; to keep the assigned job functioning at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be physically equipped to maintain an upright, walking position for a twelve (12) hour shifts. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must keep work area and machines clean. Wear required personal protective equipment at all times and adhered to all safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Getting products our customers love on Store shelves is a big job, and our 11.9 million square feet of warehousing helps make that possible. Our Distribution Center and Transportation Partners are key to helping stock H-E-B Stores and keeping our supply chain moving all over Texas and Mexico.

What is the work?
Warehouse Operations:
- Performs work tasks in a safe manner, in accordance with work instructions; proactively takes action to improve safety
- Proactively assists other Partners through their own actions, such as sharing information about technical matters, facility-specific knowledge, processes, and procedures
- Takes action to help assimilate fellow Partners into the work environment as opportunities present themselves
- Completes work assignments in a timely manner; uses time efficiently and productively in support of facility goals for on-time release of trailers
- Operates equipment per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to prevent equipment and facility damage
- Maintains a clean and safe work area at all times
- Haulers: Hauls product from the receiving dock to the appropriate aisle for the Lift Operator to put away

Sanitation (Housekeeping):
- Accurately cleans and organizes assigned areas in compliance with Sanitary Food Transportation Act (SFTA) and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations
- Performs work assignments per SOPs
- Recovers as much damage as possible

* Operate any forklift vehicle required for loading rack systems
* Ability to work any schedule that is flexible for production requirements
* Ensure inventory accuracy on materials for sell or production use
* Fulfill production demands in an efficient timeframe
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse
* Follow all guidelines within the Rolling Stock program
* Understand and abide by all set standards and guidelines within the Logistics Department
* Any other tasks or projects as assigned
* Understands and will adhere to all ISO & SQF guidelines and policies

PURPOSE

Provide materials for operations, ship/receive raw material, and maintain clean, organized, and accurate warehouse.

AUTHORITIES

* Complete material-tracking documentation (spreadsheets) and utilize JDE and/or DC Link shipping documents
* Read, understand and maintain delivery schedule

Qualifications

* High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred
* Proven ability of understanding DC Link and JDE
* Understanding of BOL's, Packing list and PO# documents
* Excellent attendance and job performance records
* Adequate verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently
* Strong organizational skills and proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
* Maintain and enforce all company safety, environment and Department of Health requirements

REQUIREMENTS

* Must have Berry Fork Truck Operating License (Berry will train you if you do not possess)
* Must be able to lift 30 lbs. multiple times a day
* Prior DC Link experience preferred
* Ability to climb on and off a forklift safely and without assistance at a minimum of 30 times an hour
* Ability to safely operate a forklift in high traffic, low clearance areas while not posing a safety risk to others. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness
* Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings alarms and horns on forklifts
* Stereopticon vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches
* Ability to lift 45 pounds over shoulder height a minimum of 10 times per hour
* Able to work in extremes of heat / cold
* Able to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building
* Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the comple
