Duties include: A specific discipline in the production to produce a positive, professional, memorable and meaningful experience for participants. * Assist the Manager of Operations and Production Staff with construction of scenery, lighting, sound, projection, props, special effects, or other associated equipment tasks. * Assist with stage maintenance and equipment. * Set up and break down equipment including loading and unloading. Qualifications include: * Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and experience in production of performing arts programs with a concentration on one or more specific disciplines: lighting, sound, rigging, run crew, etc. * Must have great communication skills. * Must be able to move up to 25lbs. The Opportunity: The Advancement Events Assistant is a member of an Advancement Events team who engages alumni, parents, and friends with the College through events. This person assists with a wide range of advancement event activities in support of annual and strategic goals. The Assistant will oversee the event registration process for alumni, family, and donor events; provide exceptional customer service to both external audiences and internal colleagues; coordinate faculty and student travel logistics; and other event responsibilities. This role involves interaction with alumni, families, donors, College staff, and other constituents. The ideal candidate will have a background in customer service and/or administrative support and will have the ability to balance multiple projects and demands. Essential Responsibilities: * Event registration: * Utilize the department's database/CRM software to build on-line registration pages. * Utilize the department's project management software to track the event registration process in collaboration with other departments. * Manage events and attendees lists in database/CRM. * Track RSVP status and keep registration lists up to date. * Share up-to-date registration lists with event managers and relevant colleagues. * Create and manage event reports, monitoring data for trends. * Event Assistance: * Print name tags for all advancement events. * Collect, pack, and ship event supplies. * In collaboration with colleagues throughout the division, organize faculty and student travel needs. * Book hotel stays and onsite travel for faculty and students. * Share travel briefings. * Assist with processing expense reports after the event. * Provide on-site staff support as needed. Assist at occasional local evening and weekend events. * Book on-campus venues using the College's event management system (currently Swat Central). * Promptly respond to the Advancement events email account and hotline phone number. * Other: * Assist with organizing team meetings and retreats. * Schedule internal and cross-campus partner meetings for post-event debriefs and as needed. Draft agendas and take detailed notes during meetings. * Keep and organize inventory of giveaways, supplies, and event materials. * Ensure all vendor contracts and invoices are submitted, and all purchasing card expenses for the department are reconciled. * Manage online event photo albums with the purpose of sharing event photos with attendees. * Use computer and related equipment to accurately prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents from written drafts or as directed, in a timely fashion to support the work of the other department professionals. * Listens responsibly to constituents' concerns or complaints and provides appropriate remedies, if possible, in order to resolve problems. * Maintains productivity in both quantity and quality of work while sustaining a high level of accuracy. Makes appropriate, timely and effective decisions in order to support the work of the department. Additional Responsibilities: * Attends and assists other College Advancement staff at College events as needed. * Serves voluntarily on ad-hoc or standing College committees, as appropriate and with approval of the supervisor. * Takes advantage of opportunities for professional development at least once annually. * Maintain flexibility to new ideas and new technology to take full advantage of software enhancements. * Reports for scheduled work hours in a dependable and timely fashion. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty members using state-of-the-art facilities, including the EEG/ERP imaging facility and the animal facility. The opportunity: The Animal Care & Research Technician (ACRT) will be responsible for working with staff, faculty, and students to maintain the day-to-day operations of vertebrate and non-vertebrate labs in the Psychology and Biology Departments. The core responsibilities of the ACRT are focused on animal husbandry, including daily health and welfare checks, providing food, water, and enrichment, and changing animal cages. In addition, the ACRT will also assist with research activities as directed by the PIs, including curricular support for laboratory-based courses (e.g., research practica). While the primary supervisor of this position is the chair of the Psychology Department, the ACRT will take direction from the Animal Facility Specialists and faculty in Psychology and Biology. The position will require flexible time management and acquisition of new competencies as the animal facility and research projects change over time. The ACRT is expected to learn how to perform all duties listed below and to use this knowledge to help train students as needed. This is a part-time, 17.5 hour per week position that will be required to work some weekend days and some holidays, including winter break, as part of their regular schedule. This position may be ideal for a recent graduate in Psychology, Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field, or someone interested in a career in biomedical research, veterinary medicine, animal husbandry, and/or laboratory management. Essential Responsibilities Animal Care * Routine animal husbandry care, including health care checks, behavior observation, handling, adding food and water, reporting injury/illness, and administering emergency health treatments when needed * Daily cage changing, operating cage washer, sanitizing animal cages, racks, and equipment * Daily cleaning of animal spaces such as sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, emptying trash * Assist with keeping inventory of animals and supplies; rotating stock; and ensuring all appropriate spaces are equipped with supplies * Complete daily logs and all relevant non-research related record keeping for regulatory oversight * Share in on-call responsibilities * Comply with federally mandated animal welfare regulations and institutional animal care and use policies * Occasionally perform humane euthanasia of animals. * Report any concerns, issues, emergencies to the Animal Facility Specialist and/or appropriate personnel, including the PIs and the IACUC veterinarian. The Lab Aide will communicate with the Principal Investigator and Lab Manager on a regular and timely fashion. The Lab Aide will be required to work on some holidays including certain days during winter break to maintain animal care as part of their regular schedule. For experience level II, additional tasks will include assistance with the supervision and training of student workers, including providing lab safety training. For experience level III, additional tasks will include the development of new protocols, participation in workshops or training to acquire new skills, and the analysis and interpretation of research data. This role will engage proactively by building close collaborations with the Associate Director of Civil Rights and Bias Response / Title IX Coordinator, Wellness Program Director, the Director of Health and Wellbeing Education and other members of our campus community. The Associate Director will oversee investigations associated with Title IX and related cases, plus overall safety, and security assistance to serve and protect members of the community at Bryn Mawr College.
