JOB FUNCTION:
Provides leadership in all aspects of taxation to HEI and its subsidiaries, including technical, regulated industry (utility) and practical tax expertise, strategy, research and compliance, to enable senior management to make informed decisions on potential strategies and transactions as well as to properly present its financial statements and related disclosures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Proactively provides tax advice on potential strategies and planned transactions to optimize value, minimize tax exposure, or defer taxes for HEI and its subsidiaries.
Provides financial and tax expertise to properly record the tax impact of transactions and prepares tax disclosures in financial statements, tax returns and other reports, such as regulatory filings. Maintains compliance with other tax requirements, such as general excise, use, and fuel excise taxes.
Ensures tax compliance, including the filing of all federal, state, county and other jurisdictional tax returns, pension and other postretirement benefit reports, manages the government examination (RAR) process, and negotiates settlements.
Proactively and timely communicates tax strategies and issues related to the operating subsidiaries with their management and staff and involves them in determining the implications and process of resolution. Advises the utility on the tax aspects of all regulatory issues and provides expert witness support for rate case and other proceedings, as requested.
Actively reviews all current and proposed tax legislation, regulations and rulings and apprises senior management and the board of directors of the significant tax issues affecting HEI and its subsidiaries, including regulatory tax matters.
Manages the tax department by preparing and/or reviewing administrative reports and schedules including department goals, plans and budgets. Develops staff, provides effective supervision and conducts performance evaluations for direct reports.
Other strategic tax and financial matters or projects, as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge Requirements
Professional certification of Certified Public Accountant (CPA), JD, or Masters of Taxation required.
Thorough knowledge of federal and state income taxes and all other taxes associated with doing business, normally acquired through an advanced degree in taxation, law or finance. An advanced degree in tax, finance or law is highly desirable.
Thorough knowledge of the principles of accounting and a working understanding of financial statement presentation and bookkeeping.
Thorough understanding of financial accounting for income taxes and the tax related disclosure requirements for financial statement purposes and SEC reporting.
Thorough understanding of the tax research resources available and working knowledge of how to utilize those resources.
Strong understanding of regulated utility tax matters and tax-related work experience at a regulated utility is highly desirable.
Thorough understanding of the procedural aspects of the income tax examination and appeals.
Skills Requirements
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to all levels of the organization, the subsidiaries and to the Board of Directors.
Ability to analyze proposed and real transactions for tax implications and the related economic and financial statement impact.
Possess the legal research skills to produce/review tax memoranda analyzing a transaction by identifying the issues, explaining the applicable rules and arriving at conclusions of the tax and financial statement impacts.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with company and subsidiary personnel as a team to accomplish desired results.
Ability to discuss technical tax issues and to effectively advocate the company's position on issues being challenged by Internal Revenue Service or other government regulators, and the ability to negotiate settlements at the proper stage of the examination or appeal.
Ability to manage and supervise the tax department staff and to formulate a department budget within the parameters set by senior management.
Experience Requirements
Extensive (10+ years) corporate or public accounting experience with at least half of the time spent in the tax compliance and/or planning area.
Several (5+) years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities
Lead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect our solar array to the grid power of our customer's residential property
Ensure work performed by all electricians is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes
Complete solar battery installations as assigned

Qualifications

Position Purpose:

This position is primarily responsible for the performance, quality, and support of the 2nd Shift Production team at the Cherry Hill facility, including production scheduling, training and development, and quality control of medical and specialty gases, in compliance with established specifications.
* Work safely at all times, continuously promote our safety culture, and maintain a safe working environment for all associates
* Review of manufacturing and quality control documents to assess compliance to quality procedures, standards and product specification
* Perform analyses of gases using analytical instrumentation as required
* Direct oversight of routine production testing and quality control analysis of specialty gas mixtures and pure gases
* Review production records and release medical gas products in accordance with Airgas standard operating procedures
* Support management team with regard to FDA, DOT, HSE, QMS, and ISO programs.
* Monitor bulk delivery lead times and effectively prioritize workloads.
* Assist in the qualification and maintenance of laboratory standards including proper inventory, labeling, and documentation
* Assist in the set up and maintenance of laboratory instruments
* Keep maintenance records for laboratory instruments per Airgas SOPs
* Perform general maintenance and troubleshooting on assigned instruments
* Maintain records for instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance
* Aid in purchasing of lab supplies, production equipment, and PPE
* Understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous materials
* Participate in the audit process (Internal and external) including audit preparation efforts
* Coordinate and complete action plans for Non-Conformances and Corrective Actions
* Collect and analyze data for trend reporting
* Manage and coordinate the internal management of change process
* Participate in investigations and closure of customer complaints including corrective actions and preventative measures to ensure continuous improvement.
* Control of documentation in compliance with Airgas standards and procedures
* Assist 2nd Shift Supervisor as needed with truck reconciliation and loading for shipments
* Provide support to other areas of the plant as required

This position is accountable for independently designing and implementing cost effective electronic BMS solutions for use in battery storage. They will design and troubleshoot circuits, conduct modeling and analysis, produce schematics and layouts, and other duties related to electronic BMS design.
Responsibilities
Circuit board layout with high-impedance analog signals and creepage/clearances for high voltage. Discrete analog and digital circuits design and simulations.
Provide first principle techno-economic modeling to help define the dimensions and electrical configuration of battery string control. Capture impacts from shunt currents, current collector losses, as well as trading bussing and switching efficiency with BMS costs.
Design and develop power electronic devices (such as DC-to-DC converters, DC-to-AC inverters, AC-to-DC rectifiers and power supplies)
Work on electronic designs (schematics), component sizing and theoretical analysis to study the worst cases scenarios and thus consider all the potential stress experienced by the components (stress tests)
Conduct power systems modeling and analysis, load flow analysis, and other studies of the systems to determine their performance and capacity
Produce detailed engineering materials including design schematics, PCB layouts, tolerance analysis, design notes, FMEA, failure analysis reports, and technical review documents.
Verification testing of electronic components and overall product designs.
Provide maintenance of power systems application functionality, including documentation and user interfaces
Design to meet safety certification standards, such as UL and IEC.
Coordinate and manage vendor, supplier, and contractor relationships for prototype design.
Provide technical guidance to engineering personnel, manufacturing, and field operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving complex electrical problems.
Expertise in designing DC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters with a strong emphasis on low-cost, high-performance designs for battery systems
Experience with design, specification, and procuring of electrical equipment and systems. i.e., switchgear, motors, heat tracing, UPS, batteries, cathodic protection, motor operated valves, transformers, breakers, relays, temporary generators.
Thorough understanding of electrical theory and electronics design under both the digital and analog domains
Ability to design and layout electrical circuit boards, follow IPC and other safety design standards using Altium, KiCad.
Working knowledge of embedded control systems and their applications.
Familiarity with design for EMC and availability to trace down EMI issues.
Awareness of safety certification process to standards such as UL.
Knowledge of communications protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN, i²C and SPI, specifically Modbus
Strong cross-disciplinary system design skills.
Capability to select and integrate off-the-shelf component and equipment.
Integrate with a greater team and understand how components fit together into larger systems.
Understanding of hardware and design requirements of all components and product as a whole.
