Previous experience working with children in planned activities, church groups, or other forms preferred. Must be a self-starter who is very outgoing and organized. MISSION STATEMENT:
Cullman Parks, Recreation, & Sports Tourism is dedicated to improving quality of life through exceptional parks, facilities, events, and recreational opportunities for all.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead games, activities, sports, and other functions of Camp Cullman.
Supervise children to ensure all rules are being followed, schedules are being followed, etc.
Assist with off-site field trips by supervising assigned groups.
Assist with instructors or teachers who come into the camp to teach a specific area.
Make sure Camp Cullman room is clean, orderly, and organized.
Ensure safety of all camp participants as well as respond to emergencies with proper care, follow-up, and documentation.
Get supplies and needs for camp room, trips, and other activities.
Attend all meetings as required by supervisors.
Exhibit a high level of professionalism and ethics working amicably with the Park Board, the Executive Director, Administrators, Personnel, and Community.
Exhibit proficiency in written and oral communication.
Work hours may vary, which will likely include nights and weekends, with hours varying based on time of year, events and projects.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is done on site at the Omniplex as well as leading various trips and outings away from the facility, sometimes out of state. Work is often performed outside.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to occasionally lift up to forth pounds as well as sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time. Job also requires moving equipment around for programs assisting in all program setup and tear down, and other similar work.
