Essential job functions are:

* Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before during and after processing
* Use micrometers or calipers to check and record gauge width, hardness, burr and surface condition
* Document machine mechanical problems
* Understand and document material defects, data entry and reconcile production
* Adjust machine setup to correct defects as needed throughout process
* Remove scrap from machine and empty hopper as needed
* Direct Material Handlers, Crane Operators and Helpers as required to maintain continuous production
Physical Demands:
* May be required to stand for long periods of time
* May involve some repetitive motions
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
* May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
* Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
Requirements:
* Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
* Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
* Computer skills, data entry, good verbal and written communication skills
* Perform basic visual quality inspections on products

**Objectives | Purpose:**

Operating a roll former to produce metal roof and side panels
Checking and visually inspecting produced panels against specifications to ensure a defect free product has been produced
Installing panel dies during tooling change and adjusting to panel specifications
Entering production quantities for each order into computer system
Operating a forklift for positioning coils at un-coiler
Operating overhead cranes to load coil stock
Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and assisting in other departments as needed
The most qualified candidates will have:

Summary An opening currently exists for a MachineOperator at our Bossier City, Louisiana manufacturing location. The MachineOperator manufactures metal roofing, siding, and related metal building components through the operation of a roll forming line. This position receives direction from shift leads and reports to the Production Manager. About the Division The Bossier City location was established in 1963, and is the location for our corporate departments, as well as our first manufacturing facility and a McElroy Service Center onsite. Hours 7:00 am - 3:30 pm M-F (variable by shift and production schedule) Responsibilities
Reads and interprets product work orders.
Provides quality control checks and completes daily quality checklist.
Sets up, operates and maintains the roll former in order to keep it continuously operational for maximum uptime and minimal scrap created.
Performs adjustments to the roll forming line to properly produce the required profile
Coordinates with co-workers in both the coil area and packaging area to ensure that the proper coil is placed on the uncoiler and that finished product is correctly labeled and packaged.
Interacts with electronic machine controller that provides key information to run the roll former including order information such as quantity, length, color, etc.
Properly completes line coil usage and product manufacturing reports.
Experience/Skills/Other
High School Diploma or equivalent.
MachineOperators will utilize a personal computer, calculator, band cutter, hand bander machine, caliper, tape measure, ruler, wrenches, and a utility knife in the course of work.
MachineOperators work in an inside environmental condition and have protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
