We are seeking an experienced and proactive System Cost Accountant to lead and enhance cost accounting processes across our manufacturing operations. This role is central to maintaining the integrity of our product costing, inventory valuation, and ERP system configuration and works closely with production and operations teams to understand cost drivers, monitor variances, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment and a deep understanding of ERP systems, enabling them to serve as a liaison between finance, operations, and IT. This role reports to the Director of US ISC Finance, will support site controllers to drive standardization and effectiveness as a key member of the US supply chain/operation finance team Responsibilities Maintain and analyze standard cost structures for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in the ERP system. Perform cost roll-ups and updates in alignment with product BOMs and routings. Lead the analysis of manufacturing variances, including PPV (Purchase Price Variance), labor and overhead efficiency, and absorption. Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to assess cost impacts from product design, process changes, and sourcing decisions. Monitor and ensure ERP system data integrity related to inventory, production orders, and cost centers. Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting and system integration processes. Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, or ERP implementations-owning the cost accounting configuration and testing. Prepare and present detailed cost, margin, and inventory analysis to leadership teams. Support annual budget and forecast processes, especially for standard costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS). Conduct margin analysis and support pricing strategies. Provide audit support, compliance documentation, and reporting as required by internal controls or external regulations (e.g., SOX). Assist plant manager in operational projects when required Qualifications B.S or BBA in Accounting or Finance CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred. 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). As a global manufacturer and distributor of specialty machines, shop tools, and equipment, our finance team plays a critical role in supporting informed decision making and long term growth. We are seeking a Senior Accountant who brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and a passion for building reliable, scalable financial processes. Key Responsibilities: Own the end to end fixed asset and capital expenditure accounting process, including CapEx requests, capitalization, depreciation, and construction in progress. Monitor capital spending against approved budgets and investigate variances. Manage accounting for intangible assets and goodwill in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including amortization schedules and reconciliations. Support goodwill impairment assessments through data preparation, analysis, and coordination with external valuation specialists. Own the sales tax exemption certificate process and serve as the primary point of contact for external sales tax service providers. Coordinate and support sales tax audits, including documentation and auditor inquiries. Manage intercompany accounting across global entities, including operational entities in Asia and non operational entities in Europe and Bermuda. Ensure accurate intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations. Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting required under debt agreements, including covenant calculations and compliance support. Partner with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate debt related reporting. Prepare and review month end financial reports and support the monthly and year end close process. Lead and support ad hoc projects, system implementations, process improvements, and special analyses as business needs evolve. What You Will Bring: Expertise. Judgement. Accountability. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university required, with a master's degree in Accounting a plus. CPA certification preferred but not required. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years' experience, Big Four/regional public accounting experience is considered a plus but not required. Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to apply accounting theory in practice. Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting tools to support data analysis and reporting. High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
