They gown and glove surgeons and assistants, sterile drape patients, and stand next to or across from surgeons to assist with surgeries. They are in charge of and handle all instruments, scrubs, sutures, implants, etc. They also count all instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures. Our ST/CSTs are assigned to specialties within our enterprise depending on areas of experience as well as based on Mayo Clinic's need. Prepares sterile table for each procedure assuring required instruments are available to the physicians including suture, blades, cautery, suction, implants, medication and solutions. Assists in draping the surgical field to ensure correct exposure of operative site with respect to each patient's right to privacy, dignity, safety and comfort. Provides a quiet environment for the surgical patients. Assists the surgeon when she/he does not have an assistant. Correctly identifies items on back table. Applies basic and current knowledge of surgical instruments for a proficient performance of assigned functions. In this role, you'll help administer basic medical care, support chronic condition management, and assist with screenings and health-related services that help students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Expected Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-3:30PM. What You'll Do As a School Health Technician, you will: * Support and enforce school health policies aligned with safety and student well-being * Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation * Provide basic first aid and respond to minor injuries or illnesses * Support communicable disease protocols and student health monitoring * Notify appropriate contacts(PanCare nurse, guardian, principal) when a student requires additional medical attention * Conduct screening and prevention tasks such as lice checks and education * Assist with State-required student screenings including hearing, vision, scoliosis, BMI, and follow-up documentation * Perform CPR/AED if needed * Assist with medical procedures with RN delegation and training, such as: * Blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration * Catheterization monitoring * Enteral feedings * Maintain and track health room supplies and equipment * Communicate with parents, school staff, and PanCare clinical team to support continuity of care * Ensure confidentiality and compliance with district and PanCare policies * Perform documentation and reporting in accordance with protocols * Support additional duties in coordination with Florida Department of Health guidelines and school needs Some non-traditional hours may be required based on school needs. Responsibilities Assist clients and staff with team needs throughout the facility. Assist with addressing the treatment process within the organizational guidelines, philosophies, policies and procedures. Review patient/client activities and relate observations to staff. Ensure building complies with fire and safety regulations. Provide clerical support to the treatment team, medication services, patient scheduling and management of unit office/tech station. * Review and support the recovery activities of patients/clients and relate observations to appropriate staff. * As a member of the treatment team, assist patients/clients from admission through discharge. * Ensure site/building follows safety regulations including fire and guest/visitor expectations (site-specific). * As required by site: * Accompany residents/patients/clients to scheduled appointments, meetings, grocery store, etc. * Manage money restricting program within organization guidelines. * Assist in performing toxicology screenings. * Support resident/patient/client vocational goals. * Support Peer run programming and provide education-based lectures * As required by site, assist the medical department as needed to monitor and maintain patient/client's medications. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Must be 18+ years of age * Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days. * Certification must be from American Red Cross or American Heart Association. * Current Driver's License in good standing * Favorable Drivers Health Screen Preferred Qualifications: * Current self-administration of Medication Certification or obtain within 60 days * NOTE: If completed after hire, employee must obtain PRIOR to engaging in medication administration or observed self-administration as applicable to sites. * Bachelor's degree * Previous experience working in the addiction treatment industry * Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook * 2 or more years' experience in understanding of the Twelve Step Process/Program * Insurance requires that individuals in this role have no major motor vehicle violations within the past 3 years * Insurance requires that individuals in this role have no capital violations within the last 5 years Overview The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is the largest nonprofit addiction recovery organization in the United States.
