Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Construction Manager/ Resident Engineer (CM/RE) to support the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities and conveyance facilities located in the central Ohio. The CM/RE will manage coordination, documentation, and inspection activities for various water and wastewater facilities and pipeline projects. Travel within the area may be required.
Duties and responsibilities may include the following:
Conducting on-site observations, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities of water/wastewater facility projects.
Managing and preparing requests for proposals, verifying material quantities, and reviewing payment applications.
Coordinating and communicating with multi-discipline Hazen teams, owner, contractor, and third-party inspection/testing firms.
Reviewing and interpreting Contract Documents including project specifications and drawings.
Verifying and tracking work in accordance with approved shop drawing submittals.
Assisting in the processing and review of RFIs and shop drawings prepared by the Contractor.
Preparing sketches and assembling data for the Design Engineer's use.
Observing Contractor performance and compliance with safety requirements.
Assisting and coordinating with project start-up, testing, checkout, and training activities.
Coordinating and facilitating communication between the Contractor, the Design Engineer, the Facility Managers, and the Owner.
Reviewing Contractor's schedules, monthly pay estimates, and managing the review of change orders.
Using cloud-based software for project documentation such as PROCORE, Unifier e-Builder, Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.
Interfacing with clients and performing client management activities.
Assisting Hazen engineering design teams to provide constructability reviews and VE reviews.
Other Construction and Project management activities, as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
10+ years relevant construction experience in heavy construction, mechanical and electrical construction, preferably in the water/wastewater industry
Familiarity with construction methods typical of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, and construction materials testing.
Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Able to easily move around active construction site safely and effectively.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) are required and the ability to learn construction specific software use (i.e., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam)
Certified Construction Manager (CCM), OSHA 10 certification and/or other industry certifications are plus.

Position Summary
This position is accountable for providing leadership, technical direction, and policy administration for the Transmission Planning Department. Expectations will be to develop planning excellence, meet business needs/requirements, exceed customer expectations, and continuously develop employee competencies.
The Transmission Planning Supervisor is responsible for the high voltage (>100 KV) electric system models and plan development in accordance with national (NERC & FERC), regional (SPP & MRO), and local (Nebraska subregional) transmission planning criteria, standards and policy. This position will also support NPPD's System Control Center as necessary to provide real-time operational support during normal and emergency system conditions.
As part of the regional planning requirements, this position provides consultation to Southwest Power Pool (SPP) and Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) as part of the Transmission Owner/Transmission Planner requirements and to support the stakeholder processes. Successful comprehensive long-term regional transmission plans and models ensure compliance with reliability standards, cost-effective reliability and economic transmission investment, while promoting the reliable operation of the networked transmission system for the benefit of NPPD and its customers.
This Transmission Planning Supervisor must also engage in detailed technical studies, reports and plans and advise NPPD management on the best strategic directions affecting the current and future NPPD transmission system. The target expected result is successful transmission plans that ensure cost-effective reliable operation of the transmission system while complying with applicable planning standards and requirements.
This position will report to and work directly with the System Planning and Transmission Business Manager. This position will provide technical consultation throughout the District and to external entities. This includes but is not limited to Power Resource Planning, Sub-T and Distribution Planning, Engineering, Asset Health, T&D Operations, Project Management, Doniphan System Control, Regulatory, Contracts, Environmental, Energy Supply, and Legal. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the active transmission planning function to develop the District's long-range plan and provide real time operation support for the transmission system within industry, regional, and national operation guide limits. Provide technical oversight and development of study scopes, review study results, and review/develop technical documentation prior to release of final study report.
Coordinate interconnection facilities additions and upgrades at the transmission level in coordination with SPP, neighboring transmission owners, and internal NPPD departments to maintain and improve the reliability of the transmission system. Engage with neighboring utilities, governmental agencies, and the public in support of facility additions.
Direct development and implementation of various transmission models including load flow and stability models for power system simulation. Ensure that specific multi-year, safety, reliability, operational, financial, and regulatory criteria are included and that the modelling successfully simulates the NPPD transmission system on both an operational and strategic level.
Direct development of data submittals and reports as required in support of SPP processes, MRO compliance verification, regional planning processes, and NERC standards. Work in tandem with NPPD's Reliability Compliance area to serve as Subject Matter Expert, Responsible Person, or Responsible Manager for applicable NERC standards specific to the Transmission Planning Department.
Advocate for policies and procedures at SPP, MRO, and NERC that benefit NPPD and its customers by serving on or advising committees or working groups associated with or impacting transmission planning. Advance understanding and knowledge of applicable procedures and policies as needed throughout the District.
Enhance analysis techniques and processes as additional data sources become available and software tools/technology advance. Track transmission planning related industry issues and provide feedback and strategic direction as needed.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Corporate Accounting Supervisor, the incumbent will assist with the completion of various accounting responsibilities in an efficient and cost-effective manner and in accordance with NPPD policies and procedures in support of business unit needs. The position involves providing accounting, financial, administrative and clerical support for the District.
Education, Training and Experience
The intern must be enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year college/university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units/credits or 8 quarter units with freshman, sophomore, junior or senior standing with a major in accounting, finance or related business degree and must maintain enrollment. Accounting major and junior or senior college status is preferred.
Students enrolled in Associate Programs but planning on pursuing a bachelor's degree will be considered if proof of a 4-year plan can be demonstrated.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide accounting support for the accurate and timely financial reporting for NPPD and its Trusts.
Analyze financial and operational data, including the completion of account reconciliations, identification of primary causes for variances, and review of financial transactions with supporting documentation.
Prepare presentations, statistical reports, schedules and other information on financial and operating results for management and other stakeholders.
Research accounting policies, practices and guidance and summarize research to share with teammates to ensure compliance with government accounting standards and the utilization of best practices.
Research and identify opportunities to more fully utilize S4/HANA and related software tools to improve existing accounting and financial reporting processes.
Assist with the preparation and review of tax, grant and other report filings.
Document processes and user instructions.

How Will You Make an Impact?:
Interns at Brown and Caldwell make a daily, material impact by completing support duties to advance their team's projects and objectives. They receive professional training and the support of their team. As a Summer Intern, you can expect your experience to include the following:
* Collaborate closely with people managers, project managers, engineers, scientists, and multidisciplinary teams to support projects in water, wastewater, drinking water, environmental engineering, design, sustainability, climate mitigation, and more.
* Assist in the preparation of technical deliverables including but not limited to calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and memoranda.
* Potential to participate in field work and site visits to support project design, construction, and data collection activities.
* Perform data entry, analysis, and visualization to support engineering and scientific evaluations.
* Ensure quality and accuracy by adhering to Brown and Caldwell's QA/QC processes and standards.
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to coordinate project tasks and deliverables.
* Support engineering services during construction by reviewing submittals, conducting inspections, and verifying conformance with plans and specifications.
* Manage and deliver assignments on time, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
* Complete an Internship Capstone project demonstrating skill development, learning, and accomplishments gained during the summer internship experience.
Work schedule and location: Summer Interns with Brown and Caldwell work a full-time schedule of 40 hours a week and may have the potential for hybrid work schedules and fieldwork

Position Summary
Pricing & Rates Coordinator
The incumbent is accountable for working independently with limited supervision to provide overall technical development, thorough analysis and project coordination of various pricing and rates projects. This includes taking a coordination role in the wholesale and retail embedded cost of service rate studies and the formula rate template for establishing transmission rates in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP). The incumbent is also accountable for coordinating intra-company teams as required to complete rate-related projects.
Pricing & Rates Project Lead
The incumbent provides overall technical creation, project management, project team leadership, and strategic leadership of pricing and rates projects. Provide technical development and strategic leadership on pricing and rates projects, including the management and preparation of NPPD's General Firm Power Service (GFPS), Transmission (T-2) Rate Studies, SPP Annual Update and True-Up, Subtransmission Rate Study, and Retail Cost of Service
Identify and develop scenarios and impact analyses of, or propose revisions to, the SPP rate template related to SPP tariff language changes and/or new Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) orders. Coordinate the completion of the monthly SPP transmission shadow settlement process and lead the rate outlook planning process for transmission wheeling revenues and SPP revenues and expenses.
Provide complete management and team leadership on pricing and rates related projects. Take a leadership role in dealing with customers and the organization in pricing issues including the use of customer generation and provide technical leadership on competitive and regulatory pricing issues.
Develop, create, and provide analysis for existing and new pricing products based on embedded and market-based principals and in compliance with wholesale power contract and retail operation agreement requirements.
Collect, monitor, interpret, and analyze data from the SPP, accounting records, market research, load research, industry data, and resource and energy markets for use in wholesale and retail rate analyses.
Develop, create, and provide assistance on pricing issues to wholesale customers, retail customers, and NPPD employees including interpreting pricing schedules and performing pricing analyses.
Make professional presentations on pricing issues to customers, employees, executives, and others in the industry. Provide rate training as requested.

Plan, organize, and direct the architectural work throughout the project lifecycle
