Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The pipe welder will perform welding, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintenance of piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial production and processing systems.
Must read and understand plans and specifications, including diagrams, prints, orthographic and isometric drawings. Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
Qualifications
At least 2 years experience pipe welding.
Welder tests consisting of various diameters of pipe, in the 6-G Position, welded and tested in accordance with the latest edition of the ASME Section IX Code. Basic test requirements are: singleside beveled pipe sections, with open butt root pass (typically Gas Tungsten Arc Welding {GTAW}
Process), and filled and capped (typically SMAW Process) to completion.
OSHA Requirements:
All craft are required to have OSHA 10 prior to arriving on site.
