Summary
Prepares and produces food for distribution to patients, retail, physicians and catering services.
Responsibilities
Prepares food according to standardized recipes ensuring food production schedules are met.
Follows menus provided and communicates any concerns to departmental leadership.
Ensures that food is prepared and documented according to quality, quantity, nutritional, temperature and safety standards.
Adheres to all applicable HACCP (Hazard analysis and critical control points) guidelines regarding the requisition, storage, handling and preparation of food.
Uses all necessary food service equipment as needed, using proper safety precautions, operational, cleaning procedures, as well as sanitation and maintenance of work area.

Position Responsibilities:
A. Kitchen Production:
* Responsible for preparing, cooking, and overseeing the overall production of the meals during their assigned shift
* Hands-on in production and presentation, ensuring all food is being cooked and prepared accordingto standards administered by Chefs.
* Perform service at POD/RSU tray line at breakfast, lunch, and dinner
* Responsible for minimal food waste
* Ensures that the proper amounts of entrees, vegetables, desserts, and salads are produced according to the menus and manages daily production sheets in accordance with standardized recipes and preparation methods, portion control, time schedules, and special diet needs.
* Responsible for ensuring that all food in the walk-in refrigerators and freezers is covered, labeled, and dated to ensure all food is being properly rotated.
* Properly uses, cleans, maintains, and stores equipment, identifying and taking appropriate action with any maintenance issues that exist.
* Tastes and smells food to determine quality and palatability.
* Responsible for meals going out on time.

B. Sanitation:

**EDUCATION**

What You Will Do
Prepare and serve daily breakfast and lunch meals according to menu plans, portion guidelines, and nutritional expectations.

The Leonard Florence Center for Living sets the stage for a model of care that is far removed from traditional nursing homes. The prevailing goal of the Leonard Florence Center is to create a "real" home that provides exceptional care, but also supports those seeking to redefine the worth and meaning of late life and those living with debilitating diseases. It is not only the first urban Green House skilled nursing facility in the country, but it also has the remarkable distinction of showcasing three homes dedicated to caring for individuals living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease) and multiple sclerosis (M.S.). Position Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review menus prior to preparing food
Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times
Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and therapeutic diet requirements. Will also have to prepare alternative food selections
Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations
Work with the dietitian and implement recommended changes
Develops and maintains good working rapport with the Shahbazim and members of the team
Attend in-service programs as directed

Qualifications:
