**Department:** Laboratory **Weekly Hours:** 0 **Status:** Per Diem **Shift:** Variable (United States of America) As a Laboratory Aide, you will collect samples from patients for laboratory screenings, maintain inventory, and distribute supplies as a member of the Clinical Laboratory team.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Collects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratoryoutpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room
+ Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing
+ Prepares urine specimens
+ Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies areneeded
+ Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and assists inmaintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition

REQUIREMENTS
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Completion of formal phlebotomy program or previous experience with ability todemonstrate phlebotomy skills prior to employment.
