HDR is seeking a Data Center Site Civil Planning Lead to join our growing Site Civil Business Class within our Building Engineering Services (BES) Team. The Data Center Site Civil Planning Lead will serve as the subject matter expert in land entitlements, development ordinances and processes, campus planning and layouts, and preliminary mass grading design specifically for data center projects. Responsibilities will include the following: * Lead our Site Civil Business Class in the site planning of data center projects. * Oversee all Data Center site planning projects, ensuring consistency and quality across our Site Civil Business Class. * Analyze and interpret local entitlements, zoning and development ordinances, and land development permitting processes to guide decisions throughout the campus planning process. * Lead campus planning, including site layout and utility infrastructure planning, ensuring compliance with both client standards and requirements, and the local jurisdiction's development requirements. * Oversee initial mass grading design following campus planning, guiding the project design team. * Serve as the subject matter expert with the client, providing guidance and expertise. * Interact and build strong relationships and trust with clients. * Serve as a thought leader within our organization and the data center industry, participating in industry conferences and authoring articles or technical publications. * Mentor and develop staff to understand the data center campus planning process, ensuring knowledge of client-specific standards, requirements, and processes to assure sustainability and resilience in our Data Center Planning Practice. * Apply site civil planning knowledge and experience to other market sectors as required. * Travel regionally and nationally as necessary to support projects and client engagements. Preferred Qualifications: * Project experience with land entitlement and development processes in multiple jurisdictions. * Knowledge of Civil Engineering modeling software such as Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD, Bentley StormCAD, etc. * Master's degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering discipline. * 3 years of experience leading site civil design on data center projects. #LI-BM1 Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects * Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. HDR Engineering is currently seeking multiple Substation Project Managers/Team Leads to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals in Texas. Locations include Dallas, Fort Worth, El Paso, Austin, Round Rock, San Antonio and Houston. As part of a well-established Power Delivery practice in Texas, you will have the opportunity to build and lead your own team of Substation design professionals while managing Substation projects in Texas and beyond. You will likely have prior experience managing and providing technical leadership on small/medium projects and are now ready to take-on a broader role overseeing all aspects of larger and more complex substation projects. Additionally, you will have the desire and drive to grow a high performing team to help execute these projects. In the role of Substation Engineering Project Manager/Team Lead, we'll count on you to: * Managing and leading substation projects throughout the entire project life cycle, including scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, quality control, schedule, and budget management. * Working independently and/or directing, mentoring, training, and/or supervising one or more Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD Technicians and administrative staff. * Leading the QA/QC process on projects per HDR's Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements with a commitment to delivering world class quality. * At times, being responsible for overseeing non-engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, construction management, and other services. * Building, developing and supervising a local substation team and providing oversight over workload, quality, utilization, team morale, training, and performing annual performance reviews of team members. * Leveraging existing staff across the company to execute work and deliver world class services to clients in the Texas region. * Performing client management, project management, staff supervision, and/or technical support activities. * Coordinating with HDR's Talent Acquisition team and leadership to develop a hiring plan to help build and grow a group of substation professionals. * At times, supporting and engaging in broader business development activities with existing and target clients in the region. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering * Master's degree in Electrical Engineering * Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months, together with experience using project management tools, such as MSProject. * Ability to effectively understand and apply many of the following project management concepts is strongly preferred: project life cycle, contract terms and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope/schedule/budget, project initiation, project planning, financial management and controls, including earned value, internal/external communication, team management, change management, and project closeout. * Experience and client relationships in Texas considered a strong advantage. * Track record of working cooperatively with diverse teams; regional, department, and technical managers; and project staff preferred. * Experience with transmission, distribution, communication, and system protection and planning projects, as well as public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition. * Experience working with Renewables developers and/or the interconnection of Renewables Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Engineering * 7 years related experience * A minimum 2 years project management experience * Professional Engineer (PE) license * MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus) * Demonstrated leadership skills * An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
