HDR Engineering is looking for a Bridge Inspector to join our South Carolina team. This position may be based out of any of the following HDR offices: Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, and Fort Milll. The Bridge Inspector will be expected to perform bridge inspections and some office engineering (rating, rehab/repair design, CADD). They will assist the Team Leader in performing bridge inspections and preparing reports in accordance with NBIS (National Bridge Inspection Standards) on a regular basis. In the role of Bridge Inspector, we'll count on you to: * Participate in bridge inspections, develop inspection reports, and perform structural load calculations * Work in a team environment and independently while challenging yourself to acquire knowledge and experience in engineering * Support HDR's national inspection program on an occasional basis * Perform and update load rating analyses using commercially available software such as BrR * Assist with bridge rehabilitation and design efforts * Coordination and scheduling with clients, subcontractors, and railroads to meet inspection deadlines on time * Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or associate degree in civil engineering or a related field * 2 years' bridge/structural inspection, rating experience or design experience * Completion of NHI 130055 "Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges training" * Experience with SCDOT bridge inspections according to BIGD and SCDOT load ratings according to LRGD * CADD experience, MicroStation preferred * Experience with ProjectWise, Google Earth and Bluebeam * Willing to work with other disciplines (bridge, roadway, hydraulic, construction, planning) within the office, as necessary, during inspection downtime * Must possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record and can travel for multiple night stays during the week and on weekends * Strong client relationship skills * This position requires physical ability to perform filed inspections of in-service bridge and culvert structures, tunnel structures, highway structures, overhead sign structures, hydraulic structures, and metal traffic signal poles. This individual must be able to work individually and within a group of inspectors to verify construction activities to comply with plans and specifications. Good communication skills and problem resolution skills are a must as they will have daily interaction with the contractor. SCDOT certifications that will allow them to perform various material testing and sampling duties as needed (asphalt, concrete, and foundations) are a big plus. HDR is looking for an Industrial Project Manager with experience supporting Industrial sector clients and projects in the Southeast. This position will be located in HDR's North Charleston office, supporting a growing Industrial market sector in manufacturing. They may also support clients and projects in agribusiness, food and beverage, oil and gas, mining, and aggregates industries. Primary responsibilities for this position will include project leadership, management of multidisciplinary teams, as well as understanding of scope of work, schedule, and budget. This individual should be familiar with engineering disciplines involved on manufacturing and industrial projects, as well as implementation of QAQC procedures. This role also requires client interaction (from pre-positioning for the work, proposal development, through project completion) and strong verbal and written communication skills as needed for regular interaction with internal staff such as project team members, marketing staff, and operations leadership. They will also work closely with South Carolina leadership, as well as our Advanced Manufacturing Practice. On a day-to-day basis, the Industrial Project Manager will also be expected to: * Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development and initiation to close-out) * Be responsible for all aspects of complex small to medium projects or routine large projects * Produce and coordinate several small to medium projects concurrently * Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings * Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders * Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule * Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule * Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews * Implement QA/QC procedures * Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree * PMP certification * Experience managing engineering projects for Advanced Manufacturing industry * Local candidates are preferred * *LI-SM1 Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Engineering * 7 years related experience * A minimum 2 years project management experience * Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. HDR is looking for a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our South Carolina Transportation Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in the following locations: Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, or Beaufort, SC. This individual will inspect earthwork, storm drainage, asphalt pavement, concrete pavement, and/or structures for conformance to plans and specifications. They will perform material sampling and testing, calculations, and computations, and contract documentation duties, which may include field measurements of pay items as well as other required documentation. Work may include other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Night and / or weekend work may be required as dictated by client project needs.
